But the weird thing is, that the water and the waves seem to pick up the wind information. The airplane just seems to 'ignore' it, somehow...

Oh yeah i noticed that earlier, forgot to mention it.

Flying low to look for waves and eye wall, haven't found eye wall yet. This hurricane has a huge eye wall on sats.

Yep, I'm right at the center now, no eye so far. Hurricane Genevieve somehow looked much more impressive in the sim on August 18th.

Picture from within the storm at low altitude.

As you can (probably) see, the waves are large (because of the wind), but the plane reads around 2.3 kts and is unaffected by any wind/turbulence. I do have rain in there, though...

🙂

I did get very heavy rain, it just cuts the rain off at unrealistically low altitudes, sometimes 500-1500 feet.

Crashed into the ocean, too bad, might should try the Icon.

Getting some rain now at 4000ft, still no winds.

Yeah... that's about my observations as well... what a shame, really.

🙂

They have a very good weather system in place, just needs some tweaking, shouldn't be that hard for them to patch it.

I did a bit of this yesterday but I didn't go in that far. I noticed no winds as well. The ride was smooth and diffinatly should not have been.

Wow, thanks for sharing, this looks awesome! I tried to fly into the storm earlier today but I managed to crash my C172 🤣

Alright, back to Houston, sea-skimming at 500 ft. I hope Asobo doesn't suddenly turn the wind on, or I'm screwed. 😄

The eye is pretty impressive.
