I've installed to this folder as per Sqirrel's video and the instructions on the Github A320NX download page, but I can't get the mod to work. Are there any other steps I can do to determine what is going wrong. is there a .cfg file somewhere I can update to point the A320NX to the Asobo location

No, once you have dropped the A320NX folder into the community folder it works automatically.

Nope, my MSFS is installed into a custom folder and the A32NX update works like a charm.

6For people saying it's not working...  are you starting cold and dark at a gate, or powered up on the end of the runway...   frankly if you are already powered up, the most you will be likely to see if it's working are the new doors screen and a couple of others..    so far all the changes have been to things like the APU startup which you won't see if you start powered up.

You also wont see much if you start the engines by hitting CNTL-E either because then most of the new stuff is bypassed.

I have my fs intalled on my H drive and just dropping the folder into the Community folder worked for me.

OH yes.  if you watched the video, make sure that like Squirrel you have the dev version not the standard one..  some of the stuff in the video doesnt work if you didn't download the dev version 🙂

I think the main confusion, at least for me, is that this mod doesn't make a 2nd entry of the neo in the plane selector list. You still select the same neo as before, but now it has the functionality of the mod.

YES!!, at last. Guys it's not rocket science (aeronautical actually😜) Just drop the (word not allowed) A32NX folder into the (word not allowed) community folder. The community folder is in the same folder as the official folder. Start MSFS then select the (only) A320 Neo (or whichever livery) and go fly....................................

The APU screen still shows even when you are airborn

yes, I know.. I said doors and a few others.. the issue is that the vid talks about delay to apu start up...  no delays or new buttons needed if you short circuit the startup

It is the "default" that has the mods, no other A320 is added. Unlike the Zibo 737 in X-Plane, you will "not" see another aircraft. To test, click on the APU button, if the APU screen appears you have updated it ok. In the squirrel vid he is shown using the "DEV" version not the stable version. Here is the link to the DEV version:- https://github.com/wpine215/msfs-a320neo/tree/dev-0.1.1

Do you mean the APU button right next to the FMC? Cause that is working yes, but the ADIRS buttons for instance are still INOP (whiich are functional in several tutorials using "stable version").

Read again what I said above, you are using the release version, the version squirrel used is the DEV version, link for the DEV version in post above.

I think it is absolutely brilliant that we are getting things like this from some great people in the community, just after a week of the launch of the new sim.

I look forward to Asobo fixing the Simconnect stutter now, as I want to be able to use a third party VFR map of some sort.

And they have all the other issues to fix of course! 😜  But they really need to engage with the community formally to decide who is doing what.  After such a good response from the community, we really don't want things getting messy!

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Too late. 🙂

I totally applaud all the tinker'ers out there who are producing new or enhanced content....but some sort of structure needs to be in order so we are not in the situation we find ourselves now.

I mean in this thread alone, I see so many people confused on what seem to be the most basic of instructions, but then again we're not taking into account the variables to each custom install every one of has on our machines.

A lot of these instructions assume things that are critical to the success of the attempt to try it.  For example: Did you buy it from Steam or MS store? Did you install on the C drive or another drive not the main Windows drive?...You get the idea.  Those answers will obviously impact the outcome of your experience, and I think after a while...most experienced modder's will (after answering the same question a thousand times), add those details into their instructions (like some already have started doing).

Also, the forums in this and any website wanting to share these great mods....there needs to be a dedicated forum, with sub-forums to keep the 100's of modding posts out of a main MSFS discussion.  sub-forums like (for example): Aircraft mods (with sub forums for each type), Scenery Mods, Utility mods, etc.

I know we all pretty much realize that as posts here fly off the 1st page in mere minutes and the search engine is not the most intuitive. 😉

I'm super-excited to see where we are a year in after just what I've seen after a few days. 🙂

I totally agree with all of your post and the sentiment Steve.  I feel the same.  👍

It is never too late to start better organisation of all this though, but I hope they do it sooner rather than later or it could knock the wind out of people's sails who are trying to do some good if they pull the rug out from under us.

We really need to know if Asobo are alright with all of this.  We don't want them locking down the Community folder after the event if they aren't too happy with this.  That would bring it all crashing to the ground very quickly.  I think they don't know what to say at the moment (probably taken by surprise by all of this), as they have to look after us, and their associates (3rd party add-ons).  It will be a delicate balance, especially with some old FSX aircraft starting to be ported over.
