This version is mostly the runway and a couple of ramps and not much else.  The North end or the Navy Pier don' exist in this one, but, it works great for a stand-in and you can start and stop at Meigs so thank you for this. The runway may be a bit longer than the actual one that existed and the marina is no longer there, but, what the hay.

No doubt, one day, Chicago will be upgraded as a city and the full glory of Meigs Field will reappear, mostly likely as payware.  I will buy that one also.  Gotta keep the history.

Awesome.  Does it pull-up in the flight planner to allow atc to fly to and from, and does it have any rnav and or gps aided functions for landing etc?

It's in the flightplanner so you can spawn there...I have no idea if it works with atc (I guess it would). But there are no precision approaches (there never were any to begin with, though). It's a true VFR approach kinda place. There are lots of VOR's in the area of course so you could always put together some sort of instrument approach for lateral guidance...you just can't do a precision approach type....unless you want to edit the files yourself and add an ILS there I suppose. But personally I think that doing so would detract from the ambiance of the field 🙂

Great...I will try a flight from there with atc as I am using that at the moment along with the flight planner and finding it ok with airways and nav aids etc.  Meigs is where it all started with me with flight simulator.

Amazingly, Meigs can be selected in the Flightplanner, and now that I have installed a copy of this freeware scenery, I've got to say that it is really good!!  🙂

Thanks for letting me know, I would like a city GA field as I am doing alot of GA flying around Flagstaff and Phoenix which looks great in the sim; Chicago would be nice to see some large buildings and for nostalgia purposes 🤓

Toronto City airport might also be of interest.. CYTZ.

I thought ORBX had a Miegs for P3D.  Maybe they will bring it back to FS2020.

They do, and they probably will... but in the meantime, this freeware does a very good job!
