RTX 3080, will 10gb be enough?

I dont think anyone mentioned the rumored 3070 ti with 16gb memory?

I could well be wrong but I'm not sure Nvidia will do a 3070 super. There's only $200 difference between the 3070 and 3080 so not a huge gap. And it'd be a bit of a slap in the face to people who bought the 3070. This is what happened with the original 2060 where they upped that to the 2060 super and original 2060 buyers got royally burned. But that was more forced as the stock 2060 couldn't even beat out the previous generation 1080. But the 3070 this time is offering probably at least comparable performance to the 2080ti so not the same situation.

I could see them doing a 3080 super though as there's plenty of room between the 3080 and the 3090 prices where a fancied up 3080 could slot into.

No, not if you want to increase visual fidelity to very high levels (who wouldn't)  Cheers, Rob.

An important question for anyone on a budget, or who wants to meet a certain value standard is this:  what kind of increases in visual fidelity does one get in MSFS by going from 10Gb to say 19Gb?  I put the Render Scaling slider at 200% just to see, and quite frankly, the difference wasn't real obvious, but I didn't look too closely because the frame rate tanked as the GPU hit 100%.  I'm wanting to upgrade my GPU but need a better idea of what you get for these higher end GPUs w/ lots of VRAM to see if it would be worth the $$ cost.

I went from  a 1070 8gb to a 2080ti 11gb this week. Got the 2080ti for $200 never used. 11GB is working just fine. Watched a review on the 3080 using MSFS. Only a 10 fps increase over the 2080ti. No image quality difference at same settings.

The MSFS reviews (linus/Jays 2 Cents) I saw showed a much bigger improvement than that.  However at 4K.  Less on 1440p, and if any on only 1080p

What a dilemma. I was just notified that I can buy a 3080 FTW3 Ultra from EVGA and I have 8 hours to decided or I go back on the notify list. I think I need to wait and see if a 16/20gb version is released by AIB's.

I went ahead and passed on the 3080 10gb. I'm going to hold out until December. I know it's a rumor but it's looking promising and as a P3D/MSFS2020 users I would not be happy with 10gb.

I dont think anyone mentioned the rumored 3070 ti with 16gb memory?  Would this choice, if it occurs still be better than a 2080ti coming from a 1080ti, i would think? Yet should still be alot cheaper than the 3090?

It appears the 3070 Ti may not make it to the market after all based on latest rumors from yesterday. If that is the case the 3080 from Nvidia will be the ideal choice for many but I am also looking to see what AMD can produce.
