I honestly feel sorry for folks who paid what we know folks have been paying for 2080Ti's in the last few months.

Here is the Cragslist search for 2080 near me.  I expect it to be pages long soon. 😞

I especially feel for the guy at the bottom with the "Used LIKE NEW" thinking he'll actually get $1,200 for it.  Only way is if he finds someone who's never browsed the internet or never typed in 3090 by accident when looking for a card. 🙂  It's gonna be a bloodbath!

 

Yep Nvidia pretty much decimated the used card market prices the other day. 

My stopgap 2-months-ago $325 purchase of this 8 GB 1070 TI looks very good right now.  High to ultra settings at 2560 X 1440 and smooth as butter.  I may wait about 30 days and see where the 2080 TI's come down to and how that compares to the 3080 prices.

Yeah....been so long since I've been in a best buy or any other brick & mortar store...almost tempted to go to one, call a sales rep over to the video card section and say "Are you actually still selling these to anyone....at THOSE prices?"   Both a good and bad thing at the same time.

Gotta' wonder if there was any hate mail going back and 4th between the video card vendors and NVIDIA when they basically bricked all their current  warehoused stock.

Theoretically, RTX 3070 has 43% more compute power than the RTX 2080 Ti, for both the CUDA cores and Tensor cores. It also has 18% more ray tracing performance. And it does that while using 12% less power, at less than half the cost.

reckon I'll notice a difference when I upgrade from my 1060? 😜

Yeah....as happy as I've been with my old Titan....I too may wait to see if anyone wants to dump their 2080Ti for $200 or so....might be tempting.  Good times for video card buyers...not so much for sellers of anything not starting with a 3.

I'm lucky enough to have two sons roaring to get any hardware their beloved father dismisses, for what I know they prey for every flight sim announcing a new version

Yeah...we simmers (and gamers) find ourselves in and almost Utopian state where we're getting significantly more for significantly less.  With the addition of MSFS2020 on the market.....never in the history of simmer has it ever been better than this!

Oh yeah.....almost forgot....ordered 32gb ram (don't care about all the timing numbers after it...its fast enough) night before last on Amazon for an 8 am next morning delivery for $115.  Good times indeed.

Have my old 16gb (8x2) Corsair DDR4 16GX4M283000C 15W for sale. 😉

With 3GB LESS VRAM. Might not be a problem today, could be in the future with DX12.

I don't even want to go there....may even be taking a chance on CraigsList if its a guy is particularly bummed he's selling his $1,000 card bought 3 months ago for $200 and wants to take it out on the buyer. 😲

My 2080ti is staying and when i do get round to upgrading my GPU my grandson will have it he is into racing sims.

But MSFS was the sim that was going to stop all this spending thousand's on hardware and addons you will not need it !!!!!!. 

A fried of mine works at a PC supplier and unlike last time Nvidia gave good info on the release and stocks of 2000 series are low, they may not drop in price as much as some think.

I wonder what the stock levels for the 3000 series cards will be like for the next while? Some rumours knocking around it's going to be very tight until early 2021 which might further buoy the 2000 series prices for a while.

I'm thinking you and I should have employed some marketing strategy with our ram to see if we could get any takers....
