OrbX Innsbruck vs. MSFS Premium Innsbruck Head-to-Head

Basically the "premium" airport has buildings etc. in the right locations, but appears to be created using a lot of the sim's generic assets with a few bespoke touches.

Well for me the premium airport is more then enough, in approach Innsbruck i doubt anyone will look out for a specific logo to recognize the airport 😂

I have purchased the orbx version and am impressed and have not noticed any drop in FPS. There are a couple of issues that need to be resolved, static aircraft can't be turned off and the PAPI lights for Rwy 08 don't work - always show white.

I can agree that, the PAPI for RWY08 doesn't work. So guys, don't chase the PAPI- you'll crash lol.

What I'm also missing is the rapid light through the City for RWY26 and the red obstacle light along the circle area.

Well, it's been at least 6 months since Orbx released LOWI and they still haven't fixed the PAPI lights for RWY08. Guess they are more interested in releasing new scenery to make money than fixing bugs in existing scenery. I for one will not be buying anymore of Orbx's own scenery.

Fully agree Orbx needs to be called out for this type of issue. Other MSFS scenieries released by them as ports have also not been updated and/or badly ported.

I have been buying Orbx scenery for about 13 years and it is very sad to see their decline in quality.

LOWI Orbx is part of the 50% sale right now so I went looking for reviews and found this of interest.  However the title of this thread says ORBX vs MSFS premium. All the lists I've found suggest LOWI is in standard.

Also the pushback tugs don't work in Orbx LOWI anymore...

Seems like the Orbx stuff is sitting on the shelves because I'm getting a lot of email notifications about 50% off sales.

I haven't felt the need at all to buy airport scenery. Default and premium versions that come with the core sim are enough for me. How much time do you really spend studying logos on hangar doors?

In fact, the only scenery addons I've bought are Zinertek's airport textures and LatinVfr's Arex Europe.

Orbx is a wonderfully addon for LOWI its one of the very best of orbx airports.

Its far more than studying logos on hanger doors lol. The very large hanger looks nothing like the real thing.

The main hanger

Orbx, also note the buildings in the back ground and the other hangers to the left and right comapired to the default.

Also the ground marking and textures.

Also note Orbx added buildings that come with it around LOWI area inclueing a church that is a key for 08 approach.

Its a great airport, the detail is amazing and imo well worth having. The diffrenct is night and day from the default. But if you cannot see any diffrenct from above then stick to the MSFS version.

Each to there own.

And the Olympic ski jump which in the default scenery is a weird, long building!
