Pilot seat adjustment

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is anybody familiar with key commands on adjusting only the pilot seat up/down and forward/aft position without adjusting at the outside view?

In FSX or P3D, you can adjust each one independently, here on MSFS2020 if I want as an example to adjust the pilot seat to an fwd position, basically you adjust the interior zoom together with the outside zoom.
Quite unrealistic, or I didn't find the correct key combination.
You would think that an MSFS manual would be helpful, especially with all the key commands that differ from what we are used with.

Thanks.

The new view you can save with Alt+Ctrl+1....9, after this quick access will be Alt+1, Alt+2 ect.

I used it a lot (added to joystick). Some planes have wrong pilot view point.

the "translate view" commands are the ones you will want to assign.

Wow wow wow, thank you so much!

I wished we had a manual for this software.

I do appreciate the help you all.

I took about a month off from MSFS ending with the VR release. Haven't done a properly flight with my Honeycomb yet, just been using the Xbox controller for a little light firkling. Thing is, the arrow keys no longer move my seat around (usually just up and down) and I can't find them in the control assignments. Anyone know where they're hidden, please? Can't understand how they've become unassigned, strange!

The latest update unhooked the seat (eyepoint) up and down keys. You have to re-assign them.

  • “Decrease cockpit view height” (down)
  • “Increase cockpit view height” (up)

Put them back on keyboard or on a controller DX button.

Heaven only know why Asobo unhooked these from the keyboard last update.

It was actually me who bumped it since I thought something might have changed 😁

Thank you, much appreciated. Can confirm it's worked.

I was astonished with something my first flight after the last update. I wanted to 'look down' in cockpit view. I found that I could pan up and down (cockpit look up, cockpit look down) but not translate eypoint up and down (increase cockpit height, decrease cockpit height). Not with keyboard, and not with the hat which I use for eyepoint and panning cockpit views). All  the left and rights still worked fine, only the up and down had been removed. So I had to go reasign up and down on the keyboard and on the hat!

They weren't 'unhooked', just replaced with another keyboard profile by mistake.  Your old one should still be there.

Rather than reassign the keys again, you can load your old profile from the settings.  All that happened was MS/Asobo accidentally bumped your old assignments with a 'default' one of theirs during an update a while back.  It was covered on a lot of older threads.

I found my old settings.  Go to controls, then 'keyboard' at the top, and click left or right on the arrows just underneath 'keyboard'.  There are two settings called 'default' and 'keyboard profile'.  My old one was 'default', and 'keyboard profile' was the new one without the cockpit adjustment settings.

That should sort it!
