Where do you lock ?

In the skif software itself

Make sure you have all the dependencies installed

Its actually a borderless window and WDM controls it. it is not exclusive at all. hence why you can alt-tab between applications so easily.

If you use SKIF is there any negative impact on your ability to alt-tab in and out a lot? I'm constantly doing that so can't have any issues with that functionality.

No; none at all. I use it with dual monitor.

One thing to be wary of, you can’t detach the gps etc and drag to a new screen

You lost me there, G-Sync can be set to operate in both Full Screen and Windowed Mode.  How well G-sync works will be based on the monitors VRR range: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/ and your min FPS.

Cheers, Rob.

Yes, but, Gsync is better when used with exclusive full screen mode. Full screen borderless mode is choppy. It’s just a maximised window.
Gsync in windowed mode is kind of a hackjob implementation compared to how it works in exclusive fullscreen. It has to work within the desktop window management layer of Windows

So if I don't have Steam version then it won't work, right?
