Some 3070 results with FS2020

Recommended Posts

What is the methodology of testing ie what kind of flying scenarios and what kind of hardware around the card ? I didn't find anything on their site about these two essential elements of testing.

Interesting how the 3090 can't break 60fps at 1440p but only loses 10fps running at 4k. 🤔

With my setup in MSFS i have mostly around 80-90fps in 4k,

yes i dont have render scale at 200 and that stuff, you can fine tune it.

I also can setup it to get around 35fps 😂 but i dont do it.

What i wanted to say is you can get higher fps in msfs with the 3070, its about the setup.

Does anyone where to pick up a 3070 in the U.K. and when?

Released tomorrow in the UK 29th October but getting hold of one is another matter entirely!!

These "results" are close to worthless.

Agree. In isolation of far more detail, no conclusions should be based on this. The sim is on Ultra? Does that mean all LOD sliders are also maxed to 200? Cars, ships, AI vehicles? New York City or rural Africa? And they tested it with the current sim state, where LOD is not working properly (as per Asobo's own admission).

That said, the 3070 does seem like the card to have on a cost vs performance scale. For those already running a 2080Ti, it will offer no benefit, even at 4K.

Again, it’s not just about FPS. It’s about how smooth the sim is. What’s the frame time in their testing?

Thanks Glenn. 👍

I need to read the full article to see where they were flying and in what aircraft etc. but the results are a good indicator as to how the 3070/80/90 scale against each other.

Looks like the 3080 will still be the sweet spot on price/performance as we kind of expected.

It also shows very close to my 1080Ti results in the sim on a rough average.

Also, please don't be put off.  These results are not 'close to worthless' - they are interesting and a good indicator of relative performance.  I am surprised anybody posts anything on here these days with the amount of petty sniping going on.

All the new AMD cards are rumoured to have 16 Gig, think I'll wait a little while longer.

The 3090 is low in the chart per my own testing last night, as I installed my new system last night with all ultra.  That being said, every system is a little different, and we have no idea what the cpu is.

The 3070 vs a 2080TI Is an interesting comparison, kind of like choosing a hybrid club, vs a standard iron in golf, it seems like a different way to get 180 yards from the fairway, just a different way of doing it, but boy that 3070 would sure be the cost effective way to go if you were looking to upgrade from a 1080 gpu or less.
