Bonanza Turbo V3 RELEASED

Not sure if it's because of the NXI but NAV GPS won't work and the flight plan entered from the MSFS doesn't carry over to the plane. I reported it to WT and I think it comes from them.

I had no issue getting a MSFS flight plan to show up in the NXI equipped plane, but I was not able to get the AP to engage it.  I then deleted the NXI, and had no issue bringing in a flight plan into the default G1000 (which I believe is now equivalent to the former WT mod), which the plane captured and flew perfectly.  Engine instruments all read properly, as well.

I suspect my initial problems with the NXI may have been user error, as I later reinstalled the package, and flew a perfect flight with the NXI equipped C172 (which included a perfectly flown teardrop entry into an in lieu of holding pattern on an ILS approach).  I'll have to experiment more with the NXI on Robert's Bonanza, but I think everything should be working.

Not sure what you did... for me, the AP does not follow a NAV/GPS course after SU5..

As I said, I need to do more testing with the NXI (I only know for sure it works with the G1000 C172), but have you tried removing the NXI and flying the Bonanza with the default G1000? It is important to delete any former WT G1000 mod from your Community, as it is now incorporated into the default as of SU5.  The Turbo Bonanza should have no issue with following a NAV/GPS course with the current default G1000 now.

Again, I said I hadn't yet gotten it to work with the NXI in the Turbo Bonanza, but the new default G1000 works fine, including following GPS course.  I had hope since I did get the NXI to work with GPS course in the C172.  Further attempts have not worked, though, still no go in the Turbo Bonanza (only for NXI and only for GPS).  Everything else works in the Bonanza with NXI, including NAV with VOR, and APP with ILS, and all other AP modes, so it is only GPS that is an issue with this combo.

It's a shame, but this bird is too good to hangar, so for now it is still usable even with GPS flights if you disable the NXI first.

I have not had much opportunity to do any flying in SU5 since release, but this morning I tried to do a flight from TEB to ALB in Rob’s Bonanza, using the NXI, and a flight plan exported from LNM. The FP loaded into the Garmin with no problem, but the aircraft would not follow the flight plan course at all, even though GPS was annunciated on the PFD. It just remained on the heading that existed when I engaged Nav mode. I tried it a second time after a re-start of MSFS with the same result.

I then loaded the default 172 (with NXI), using the very same flight plan, it it flew the FP with no problems.

Hi Bert,

it's probably just a matter of writing a script for the NXI that works with the Bonanza. V3 was scripted for the WT G1000. I haven't looked yet as I cannot so far download update 5 but when I do I can probably re-write the script so Nav works. Meantime I assume WT have probably written a guide on how to prepare a script for each specific aircraft using the NXI.

I believe there’s an update to the WT g1000 available that will replace the NXI and is more “stable”.

Are you talking about 4.0?

There’s a working title updater that I have and it downloaded the WT G1000. That is compatible with SU5. I’ll check the version. I haven’t used it yet.

Mike- Don't forget to UNLOAD the NXi from Community first!  I'm just using the NXi as "advisory" and that suits me for now.  Once Rob is up and running we will have a fix...and there will probably be another Hot Fix for SU5 regardless.  For now- I'm flying her using a track line and then the radios for arrivals... works beautifully.

Robert you can always send the WT guys a note here or on Discord - they may even be able to make the mod/fix for you? 🙂
