You say the AIG performance is better than it was which is good, but how is the performance compared to the FSLTL?

I dont have any fancy numbers, but for the same airport (with AIG having alot more traffic and variation) I see the same, or better performance in favor of AIG

some numbers from testing:

Airport: KTEB (sitting at the apron facing NY City)

AI Airplanes: 305 (enroute and at all the big airports in NY)

AI Ground Vehicles: 400+ (att all major NY airport active)

Sim Graphis: Set to Ultra

Date/Weather: Friday 1300 local and Clear Sky

-> 35+ FPS stable

(System: AMD 5800X; RTX3090; 32GB RAM)

Before all that I had around 10-20FPS in the same scenario. If I use the inbuild traffic limiter of AIGTC I get around 50-60 (locked at 60) FPS, with still around 80+ airplanes in the Sim (enroute or parked at KTEB)

Is there a way I’ve missed to limit the number of AI aircraft rather than a maximum percentage.  I’d like to be able to cap the number of AI in busy airspace but wouldn’t want a reduced percentage at smaller/less busy airports.  I’ve only been able to find the options to set a percentage and to limit ai to departure and arrival airports.

Thanks

Dave

How does the limiter actually work?
At the moment im at KJFK and I tried to put in KJFL in the Dep (ICAO) aswell as Arr (ICAO), but all the traffic disappeared (except for the moving traffic, which flies to all of the airports in the area)

Will it remove all the traffic sitting by the gates?

that might be a bug in the current version.... It should remove any sleep traffic that is not at the two airports, but keep all enroute/taxiuing traffic at all airports....

under "Settings" is the traffic limiter that will remove all "sleeping" traffic besides the departure and destination airport. Airport movements at all airports will still be visible. We decided to no go the "hard-coded" way of eliminating traffic by a fix-number.

Aah, ok I misunderstood how that works, so airborne traffic from non departure/destination airports will still exist?

Can you set up AIG to just download the models and liveries without downloading the flightplans?

You can use the models and liveries only, yes.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

How do I set it to only download the models/liveries but skip downloading the flightplans?

Yes I would like to do this, for traffic I only use VATSIM and would like to give the AIG a go. If there was a tutorial how to do this with only using AIG for VATSIM I would like to see it.

Flightplans are not needed or even wanted (basically a waste of download time, file space and extra loading times) if you're going to use MSFS live traffic and only need the models/liveries for matching.

I‘m pretty sure we are talking only a couple of megabytes in regards to flightplans. This should make hardly any difference during downloading.
You can manually delete them afterwards, if you really need to; but you cannot prevent the download of the flightplans.

@abennett as for VATSIM you need to generate a traffic file (there‘s a tool on flightsim.to, called modelmatchingmagic or something like that; it reads your community folder and automatically assigns all found AIG models liveries to a VATSIM modelmatching file, it takes about 20 seconds). I did that too.

Thanks, and from AIG I just download models and liveries? And this should be obvious from the program?

Can can someone remind me if/how you can get AIG Traffic Controller to always select MSFS at start instead of always having to select it?
