Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS

Question: like with the Belem I suppose that some types of non commercial ships are not tracked by GPS and satellite, so how could we see them in the next version with the injector?

You are right - most navy ships are not sending an AIS signal and will not appear - some navies like Denmark, UK, Norway and Germany does regularly emit signals - the other day one of the beta testers could follow a carrier task force leaving Norfolk because a Danish and a German ship were included in the group. We have quite a few navy ships from countries not normally revealing locations like eg China, France and the US and these will continue to be made visible using a separate set of bgl traffic files. This will - once in a while - create a collision between a real and a bgl ship but I think it is the best solution.

And the Belem is visible on AIS.... Vessel BELEM (Training ship) IMO 8622983, MMSI 227051000 (fleetmon.com)

When I started the sim this morning to continue tests, I realized that one of the GAIST ships - the Eileen C, which I never saw in real life was visiting my local harbor… After making a screenshot in the Sim I grabbed my bike and went to the harbor to replicate the picture real life…

I guess this will be my small 40th anniversary greeting to our simulator - I remember sitting with my friend Karsten trying to land on a white rectangle 40 years ago… And well, apart from the picture from real world being with the sun slightly higher up and thus less red in the light and the crew having moved the deck crane forward, I think the match is kind of okay… Asobo forgot the crane to the right, but it is a mobile crane so they are excused  And the little barge between the Eileen and the fishing boat is not sending an AIS signal so it doesn’t appear in our real time traffic, but the fishing boat is represented by a similar sized local fishing boat.

Ps... The Jeppe Jensen, our local tug and icebreaker, is also seen at the end of the pier 😄

Is there any chance of getting on the beta team or is that only a special group?

It is a small group in order to secure feedback; if we need to extend I will post.

Meanwhile we continue to add tall ships...

Here the Gotheborg by Erwin Welker and below the Hermione - both are replica's of 17th century ships which are sailing today and will be visible in the real time traffic.

Excellent Henrik, after the Belem, I visited the Hermione while it was still under construction at Rochefort, in an old Royal dry dock build under Louis XIV period  🙂

Now you just tell what you saw after that... ;D

Just got into MSFS a couple weeks ago. Without reading through 77 pages, I downloaded the latest version of this from flightsim.to and put in my community folder. The directions on flightsim.to do not mention anything else other than delete older versions. Anything else I need to do? Never had this in P3D. Thanks

traffic settings ships & ferries 10%. More will make no difference.

Take a flight over the English channel from eg Calais to check it works - not all places have ships, but there you will have a decent concentration. And remember the above screenshots are from the real time version not released yet, but which has MUCH higher density of ships.

Ahh, okay. Is there an expected time of release of the real time version? Thanks

Ok, thanks. The screenshots with the comparison from the harbor looks terrific! And also those old sailing ships.

The Hermione by Erwin Welker now in the MSFS water....
