Best airports available for P3D v5

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was planning to get a few airports for P3D v5, but I really can't decide. As @Rob_Ainscough have mentioned before, many airports seem to be lacking in terms of "new" P3D features like material scripting, PBR, dynamic lighting etc. What are the best airports with these features implemented? Which ones would you recommend most?

Thanks in advance.

PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

It may be helpful to add your geographical region preference and your flying preference (GA, Passenger, Cargo, etc)

Of the airports I own I would say Fly Tampa Boston is my favorite.  The ground snow texturing on taxiways in my opinion is 2nd to none.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Yeah, but nothing beats flying the R22 down the Vegas strip at night. FlyTampa simulated traffic jams, tons of marquis, fountains, volcanoes, and a Ferris wheel.

Heck of a followup after the killer snow drift effects.

i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

I've found most of Orbx's airports updated for V5 to be quite good.  LOWI (Innsbruck) is fabulous in V5.

has anybody else noticed the snow textures look a bit odd at FSDT KORD?

The most recent release by Simaddons of Fort McMurray in northern Alberta (oil country),Canada is the best I've seen for actually duplicating an airport.  I guess the one hundred odd photos take by myself when visiting there in September 2020 helped a bit.  MSFS and P3Dv5 compatible. Some photos:

The update FlyTamps Amsterdam v1.3 icw True Earth Netherlands with all seasons. And V2 will be released in a short while. While not on this screenshot but at this moment there is snow in that part of the scenery !

This airport appears to be an addon for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator.
