April 26, 20215 yr Lighting at the time of photography, the film used, filters on the camera, how the film was developed, how it was as scanned, monitor calibrations.... To preserve a color end to end is a huge pain, and open to debate in many cases. Just ask the starship model folks what the real color.of the original series Enterprise is...and set aside weeks to read the never ending debate. And in the sim, there may be other effects of things like HDR, Bloom, PBR effects, etc that mean the as-rendered colors may not be exactly what is in the livery file. The Miviz FG had horrendous looking mirrors, like what the hell!....keep canopy open! The FI Spit has a fundamental flaw with what happens with flaps deployed. I dont see the same two people complaing in the Milviz and FI topics. But saying they will not buy this becasue of the textures. Yer I do understand like everyone they want it perfect, but I hope they have not bought the FG or Spit also they both have far more in your face faults then a star not being in quite right place. May 4, 20215 yr I got an email today for their 1.01 patch, haven't really found any changelog notes so not sure what else has changed but the cockpit lighting can now be switched between white and red which is an improvement but next patch please increase the red light's brightness a bit, it's just a bit too dark imo, I have to switch the white light on to be able to read the instruments at night.

Hey, lots have changed! 🙂 The red light is the compass light, and is suposed to be just a dim light lighting the compass only, so you can see where you'r going, and also not be blinded my the interior light, to visually see outside too. as for the changelog:<ReleaseNote Version="1.0.1" Date="2021-4-30"> After receiving some field reports from pilots we went back to our mechanics and did what anyone else would do when they have problems. We complained! And hey it's by complaining that we make change right! With our constant badgering we got them to: * swap out that faulty spinner that just wouldn't go fast enough. * replace that stupid fat propellor for something much more appealing * got them to add a sweet sweet gunsight! YEA! How do we turn that on again? * 6 liveries just aren't enough so we convinced them to get BACK TO WORK in the paint shop to give us 2 more! * Dropped off a bunch of windex for them to clean the glass on the gauges * Swapped out super bright LEDs in the cockpit for something that's MUCH more authentic * Installed booster seat in the cockpit when using VR * Found the the speaker and transmitter that was left in the cockpit that was causing REALLY LOUD SOUNDS FROM OTHER AIRCRAFT and ripped it out. Just wait until we find out who installed it... * After reading the word not allowed manual we had to get them to fix the gear lever as it just wasn't working after we read the word not allowed manual. And we went to so much effort to read the word not allowed manual I really feel like that effort was not taken into account. * Man we had to really talk to them about their hiring and rental policies for other people flying their aircraft because they were constantly stuck in ground. It's like they raised the gear lever and hit the hydraulic button while parked. LOL Who does that? </ReleaseNote>

June 18, 20214 yr What changes can we expect, will it be less thirsty? Not sure if this is true to life or not but I find it hard to imagine that based on its current fuel usage it would be able to go the distance so to speak at the time it was in use, even with careful engine/fuel management.. Still a fun plane to fly, out of all my warbirds this one is getting the most use.

Anecdotally, the P40 should be good for about 30 to 40 minutes at max speed level flight, potentially far far less than that in combat. But at more sane and economical cruise settings you might get 800 - 900 miles or so, possibly more, depending on the variant. Edited June 18, 20214 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
June 19, 20214 yr So has this been updated? I didn't get an update email and I can't see a way to download once I logged into the bigradials.com site. Clicking the old update link still goes to v101. Thanks
