Thanks for the heads-up. It's easy to miss posts in such an active forum as this one. Sometimes it takes more than one post to let the members know of something new before it scrolls off page 1.

Thx Ed.

Welcome Jay, didn't know it existed before either, as apparently others are mentioning. I've just realized the product was out today. It's a nice addition to MSFS and it seems the developer will continue developing vessels for the entire world. Hopefully at some point they become as AI traffic, too.

I was just checking the file size for this. What it's calling the base file or something is 2 gigs which I assume is all the ship models and code to move them. The Islands file is 75mb so I guess even if you have 30-40 locations it shouldn't be too bad.

I've yet to check it out at night and that sounds like one of the highlights so that's next on the list.

I also have this confusion. Maybe it could be core code for having the possibility of sightseeing the other ships/islands from certain or if not from all the different vessels.

Btw, thanks to you for all your nice scenery!.

Aw, thank you.

I assume that 2 gigs is a database they draw on for all of their future work and each individual area is a few megabtyes on top.

That being the case if I were them I'd be looking into global shipping routes too like the FSX ported one, can't remember the name for now. The models are already in there waiting to be utilised again and again.

I'm on my way there from central Sweden right now in a C-172, it will probably take me a couple of days with some stopovers. 👍

You’ll have plenty of time before World Update 3 comes in hopefully next Tuesday.

I was excited about this until I realized they were talking about some obscure area in the UK.  I thought this was for the real channel islands off of California 😉

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

I know this pack is free, maybe as a technical demonstration, but am I wrong in thinking the rest of them will be payware? Because looking at the little sections they are looking at dividing into packs (such as UK south coast), it could soon get quite expensive..

If that is the case, I will be cheering on Asobo to get their Azure AI to tackle it!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Well they may be your real Channel Islands, but the UK ones were the first of course, you know, hundreds of years of history and all that!
