the short of it, they accidentally doubled the amount of lift that flaps generate by including code not meant for this update, and it won't be fixed until Sim Update 3 in early March.

For now if you want, you can edit the flight model file for the aircraft you desire and divide the lift in half.

It wasn't caught by QA because there were no flight model changes meant for this world update, so they weren't looking for it.

I already did that for the TBM 930, but how do I do that in the Longitude?

You posted a minute before me haha. Must have done it while I was typing.

Sorry for the dumb question, but which/where are the file(s) and what lines are to be edited. Thanks for any info.

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

They made a mistake, showed transparency in describing it, and then offered a workaround until the upcoming patch.

Game developers take note.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

So, do you change both "lift_coef_flaps" and "lift_scalar" or just 1 of them? The DA62 had both.

in the fbw a320 does this have to be done or did they already fix it in their latest dev update? Thanks

Great, Thanks for your quick reply and the info!

@Tuskin38 thanks for the info!

At least there’s a work around and we don’t have to wait until the next update...

Phew 😅!!!

I assume there is no way to correct for this on third-party aircraft, is that right? The Carenado's seem to have a scrambled CFG. Am I missing something?

This is the first glitch introduced by Aboso that I find quite unacceptable.
