Would be careful calling anything 'better' or worse: having had an entire panel flash and then go dark, literally seconds before descending into a cloud deck, on an APPR at night. SOP has always been to keep ipad up split screened with AHARS Synvis and chart. Basically replicating the panel to the degree possible.

Mmm my  Ipad is not certified as AHARS only as EFB IRL. I don't know much about SOP of other companies but there are set of standby instruments  or partial panel for light GA. I certainly can't use my iPad on split screen because I can read word not allowed chart like that LOL

2388 x 1668 pixels on iPad pro (11 inch) vs typical avionics display 1280 x 800. (12 inch?). Allright buddy 😏

For those of us who shoot  LPV approaches on GNS430W 1280x800 is a lot. I can rant long time that 11 iPad mounted on yoke in small cramp cockpit cover whole bunch instruments. Plus routing every time in different aircraft on different yokes argghhhh LOL

I guess it's a matter of skills and custom. I had to refurbish my GNS because some buttons font got worn off LOL Some sweaty finders over years in turbulence LOL

Most of the 430's I've seen need work for screens going dim... so that is impressive

I actually covered my GNS430 (my aircraft leased to the club) with a screen because every instructor feel obligated to touch screen while they teac!  Stickers "don't touch screen" didn't really affected anything LOL

Also best routing iPad solution other than yoke is window (right side for me), but they all overheat under direct sunlight. Even if you fly briefly on top before getting down into sup my iPad managed to shutdown several time. My intern solution is kneepad mounted iPad with cover.

Now talking about MFD

and now my kneepad below. Notice: my buddy own this Bonanza so he bought cooler fan case for his iPad. Now a great solution for me as I jump from airplane to airplane LOL

These guys are amasing in what they have done...

They are. But according to some folks they're just adding spark plugs. Ha ha ha.  The default planes sure need a lot of spark plugs.

And substantive question: Does the avionics display in the "real" CJ4 allow displaying charts on the MFD?

Yes, the functionality is being implemented to reflect real world capabilities.

Yes. The real Proline 21 has this capability, and the charts are georeferenced, so the aircraft’s current position will be accurately overlaid on the charts. Very handy for approaches and during taxi.

I can find nothing negative to say about this added feature to the already fantastic WT CJ4 mod.  I do fly in VR (and will NEVER go back to flying in "pancake mode") and the addition of viewable charts will make IFR flying much more manageable.  I don't understand why some people feel a need to post that they have no need for a free add-on.  I understand free speech and the right to have your own opinion, but if you have no interest in using it, why would you feel the need to advertise that to the rest of us?  Anyway, I am anxiously awaiting the release of this new WT version!

Q: How do you know if you are in the same room as a pilot?

A: They will tell you.

....oh yeah, did I mention that I'm a pilot 🙂

For the people who are complaining about this function, I remind you that it is a simulator... Regardless of whether they would use it, know how to use it or would be interested in using it.... The main purpose of the simulator is to simulate ALL THE FUNCTIONS OF AN AIRCRAFT.

Looks cool...! You'd almost would get a Navigraph subcription for it... I suppose what's being simulated here is exactly what Chartlink can do in the real plane? Or should 'exactly' be 'sort of'?

That is correct. The entire menu, chart selection, scrolling, zoom levels, georeferencing, etc are all exactly as on the real unit.
