You have to replace the Thumbnails in the Amphibious version to show the right image with floats, or amphibious version! Also a Pod version, I think.

I was playing with that X-Cub with floats over the weekend.  Nice to have an aircraft with floats in the sim!

I also recommend Duluth Sky Harbor KDYT from Vertical sim (it's really cheap).  It's a runway and seaplane base near Duluth MN / Lake Superior

Well there was always the Cri Cri (impractical though) and the new L-19 Bird Dog (bit expensive)  and the Kodiak will come with floats (not out yet)  but among other things they are all payware.

This addition is a real bonus.

 

be nice eventually to be able to sit back and choose between a float DH Beaver, a floaty Stearman, maybe a PBY and maybe even an amphibious Beech Staggerwing (I am not sure any of these exist IRL anymore but they were a thing back in the day) .

Left Control W ( or custom key or button to a controller ) to lower the Water Rudders. I would recommend turning OFF Crash stuff. But I stink at water landing right now 🙂

I’ve been flying the hell out of this fantastic plane. Try increasing the wind to 15 knots for an interesting landing.

You created a new phrase, I like it. My FUN video. And yes I know you can't fly a real aircraft from the outside view, and yes I stink at turning, and flying. It's called FUN, but look at the MP person that showed up I did not know, and crash and burn. Most people want to see the float planes from the outside at some point, especially to see the water wakes that do not exist at all, or much at this time. Fun and FREE Mod. Make sure to try the Alpine one in the Snow, it's a blast also. Besides the Gear message, what is the other message that is being called out? Maybe stall? I can't make it out?

Great news. You mean the thumbnail in the subfolder under ContentInfo? It is named carbonprop-xcub-cargo and even with the thumbnail, it is still shown as a wheels version in the aircraft menu.

EDIT: I thought that the thumbnails need to go into the texture folder. Still no luck.

The spoken messages you get are:

"Gear Up Water" when low over water and "Gear Down Ground" whenever low over land.

You get those messages regardless of whether gear is deployed or not.  They are a reminder of what to do, not the actual status of your gear.

Fantastic to finally have such a great seaplane in MSFS!

I hope this will boost some more seaplane bases mod developments, be it freeware or payware.

I wish someone would make a detailed mod for Lake Hood, Anchorage. As far as I am aware there is just a very basic mod so far, and no payware in sight.
