Is there a key bind to pop up the ATC screen if you need it?

When you disable it the key bind no longer works, you have to re-enable it with the cog icon. But the ATC works 100% without it.

I tried it an didnt find any improvement.  But that doesnt mean that others cant.

If anybody finds 2-3 fps at 50 that's a 5% improvement and I would call that substantial.

Are you GPU limited constantly?

I have to check that, I use Rivatuner for FPS, not the development mode.

I have a small gain too, and the trick deserve, and so the million question I wanted since day one of MSFS release, is there a way to disable all the upper menu and it disappear completely?, no continuously appearing and disappearing that menu arrow when you move the mouse?, something ¿ugly, stupid, unreal, unnecessary?, another frames more save sure.

Why do not they do as X-Plane?, that only appear the menu when you move the cursor to one border?

Thanks MrFuzzy, will give it a go.  Dunno why they can't give us an option to kill these floating icons altogether - talk about immesion killer having this thing drop down right in the middle of your field of view if you accidentally swipe the mouse through main FOV.  Grrr.

Try this, probably it's still working:

Also this for when you enable the ATC window. It works: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/atc-stuttering-js-fix-workaround-60-seconds-stuttering/240592/7

Tried last night in two different planes, whilst flying there is negligible difference for me in VR like when on the tarmac, perhaps it's better for pancake mode.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

It works in CPU limited situations.

With a G1 and a 2070 I'm afraid you are constantly GPU limited in VR.

That would explain why it didn't really do anything for me and my 10900kf and 2080TI... Ah well, I'm happy with my mostly smooth 30 to 45 fps.

Tried it last night.  With my older i7-4770k, 32Gb, GTX 1660Ti system, and current setting usually getting mid 20s to low 30s in moderately complex urban environments with some clouds around.

Seems to get a few extra frames (2-4) hiding these buttons, and suits me to have them less visible, as hardly ever use.  I'll certainly keep this implemented.  Frames is frames  🙂

I actually seem to have gotten a small gain also.  Sitting at a gate at KSAN in the A320 I have gained about 5 FPS in the cockpit from 35 to 40 and in the external view I'm getting 50 FPS up from about 40 FPS.  That is the only check that I have made.

There is a mod that I use that makes the top menu only appear when the cursor is at the top of the screen instead of every time you move the mouse.  I will see if I can find where I came up with that mod and post a link.

Bill

Edit:  Here is the menu mode -

Small gain? That's 15-22%, I wouldn't call it small! 🙂

OK, descent gain.  😁  That was just the one test.  I will have to see at other locations and check back.  👍
