April 10, 20215 yr I click on this P3d Forum every day (several times a day) and look forward to seeing a message..."It's OUT, 5.2 available for downloading"! I sense that something is near, but I'm not totally convinced. My sim is running quite well in that I'm completing more and more flights without some kind of intervention. Usually if things get stuttery or something, I just click on the TIME menu and change the time by one hour. That brings the sim back to normalcy for the duration of the flight. I don't always have to do that, but I guess the memory (and DX12) gets overworked. Whatever, I still fly P3d so much more than any other sim and really enjoy it. I do believe, though, that the time is nigh. Oh well, half the fun is checking the forum for that message portending that flights will be smooth, beautiful, and somewhat predictable. Enjoy your weekend. Stan
April 10, 20215 yr Commercial Member I’ve learned very quickly hype trains are more disappointing than not in this hobby. Enjoy what you have, and whenever 5.2 drops, it’ll be a pleasant surprise. Sure beats weeks of being disappointed over and over. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
April 10, 20215 yr heck at this point I'm more excited for the TFDI MD-11 and FSLabs sharklets than I am for the P3D update. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
April 10, 20215 yr There are only two reasons I will go to 5.2: 1. PMDGs DC-6 will not work in 5.1 but only in 5.2 2. 5.2 will have trees and ground vegetation like we see it in that other sim. Can't be so difficult to implement, can it? In Alaska that other sim doesn't look different from 5.2 (+ ORBX) except trees and ground vegetation. Else I will keep 5.1. Also as a fallback, if Internet or servers needed for that other sim go down. And for flying my favourite aircraft not available in that other sim. I did not see any hints about such an enhancement. Give LM a bit time to work on a nice update for us. How more time they have the better it will get......hope.....hope....hope... Regards, Marcus P.

The money aspect is irrelevant and you know it. the money is relevant, they are not going to devote their staff to fix stuff for simmers, for example vector data, they are going to get them to work on stuff which appeals to corporate clients aka the Military that make them Millions, not thousands like simmers do.
