So here is the link to their B777 publicity video.  Feel free to give relevant feedback!    The like to dislike ratio is already about the worst I have ever seen.

Looks like I was the first one to comment on there.  I expect it to be deleted and comments disabled shortly.

Your comment was gone by the time I got there, let's see how many seconds mine lasts eh? For those of you who will miss it, since it will probably be deleted in a matter of seconds, here it was:

'Meet a new generation of the ‘777 Captain’ product line' they say, and whilst you are at it, meet the mean-spirited company which has threatened to sue people who were making repaints for their product, intended to make it more popular and actually help Captain Sim gain sales, but no, they prefer to push the little guy around. So, if you are wondering why this video has so many dislike thumbs downs, this information will clarify the matter for you.'

Class!  Yes, looks like yours was taken down straight away.  I can still see mine but I think maybe you can see your own comments even when they are removed.  Still, they can't fudge the like to dislike ratio.

Mine was...

'What you just did with the freeware liveries will probably mean the end of your company. Truly despicable. Expect a MASSIVE backlash, and maybe even a legal one.'

no comments on there now at all 🙂

Yes, even though I can still see mine (and only mine), it says zero comments.  I am quite interested to see where this all ends up actually!  🧐

Yup, I can still see my own comment on there, but I suspect it was gone in a matter of seconds in reality.

Still, 334 dislikes and 12 likes pretty much tells its own story. That's a 28 to 1 dislike ratio in less than 24 hours; it's probably some kind of youtube flight sim video record. For comparison, even my Bredok3D 737 MAX review got a 5 to 1 like ratio, and that thing had people openly arguing with me in its comment section lol.

However, unlike CS, I'm not a pussy, so I don't delete unfavourable comments, in fact I often give them a thumbs up and sometimes I even pin them up at the top of the thread for a laugh. 😈

I can't see the like / dislike numbers now.   Can they be turned off?  This gets funnier and funnier!

Yeah, you can turn both the comments and like/dislike icons off in your Studio Control Panel for your youtube videos. If you do that though, you're pretty much admitting defeat since everyone knows why you've turned them off.

Bunch of sad losers, I mean seriously, don't react to customer feedback and change your ways, thereby making yourself more popular and admired for doing so, nah, just pull that drawbridge up and hide behind the wall.

Interesting snippet from the Microsoft game content usage rules for Xbox and PC

"You cannot enter into any agreement with someone else to exclusively distribute your Item even if they don’t pay you. We give you this license so that you can make cool Items and share them far and wide. Someone else holding your Item back from wide distribution means: (a) it’s not going far and wide; and (b) it is very likely that person is trying to use the Game Content to promote their commercial venture. That’s not what these Rules are about."

so what this means is CS CANNOT force all free repaints to go through their website as they are stopping the freeware going far and wide and trying to use content to further their commercial venture.

Helooooooooo  Microsoft 🙂  is your legal team bigger than CS's legal team? 🙂

I’m frankly expecting them next to issue takedown orders on all YouTube (negative) reviews of their product. Maybe even issue full copyright strikes and see if they can get the accounts of people like Drawyah closed down.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t have said "they/them." If the reports I'm hearing are true, Zombie Captain Sim should just be using singular pronouns, because there's only one hack there now.

I highly doubt CS is profitable enough to have a legal team, or even one lawyer who works for them solely. I also highly doubt they make enough money to have a legal team on retainer. I'd challenge these notices, issues, and anything else "legal" they try by telling them to see me in court. The word legal is thrown around too much in our FS world without any weight behind it.

Nah, they wouldn't be able to do that, although I'm sure you were not really serious in saying that. A review is an opinion; so long as a review isn't defamatory and it sticks to facts and opinions based solely on those facts and does not infringe on the review medium's platform rules or copyright, then the only thing one can do about a bad review, is to address the issues which caused the bad review in the first place. That's what they should do, since it is in fact all they can do. and they might note with my review that I did the entire thing in their default livery and only showed another livery briefly in their ACE utility, so they can't get me on that one either. 🤣

As noted, before this latest fiasco commenced, I didn't really have any problem with their product itself. I did point out some aspects of it which were lazy, because they are, and opine that it wasn't exactly Corporal Sim's finest hour, but whilst the actual concept of reskinning the default 747 as a 777, which they are honest about on their product page, might not be to everyone's taste, it is not in itself a bad thing if one is aware of what the product is. This is why unlike many other reviews, I did not state that I didn't recommend it, I merely presented the facts and my opinion on a few things, then left the viewers of my review to come to their own decision about whether they wanted the thing.

This latest behaviour on their part however, is indeed a bad thing which richly deserves criticism not only for what it is, but also for going against the community spirit of the flight sim world, where even Asobo and MS have welcomed the wave of freeware which has bolstered their product, since they are not stupid and realise it is a benefit. So it should come as no surprise to Corporal Sim that their completely contrasting behaviour in this regard has ended up reflecting badly on not only the company, but also the product which sparked it off, and if they don't like this being mentioned on reviews, then they know what to do, and they can easily do so, right now if they want to, via social media.

But until they do that, they asked for all the flak they are getting, and they're going to get the middle finger from everyone over this until they realise that most people vote with their wallets in the flight sim world, so I've got absolutely no sympathy for them.

This is my biggest gripe with any payware is the price to quality ratio. PMDG has always been one to deliver on all fronts, but I find all too often that payware doesn't mean quality as the exterior models, sounds, and panels can sometimes lack. But at least this 777 is not breaking the bank, $30 is reasonable.

This is literally one of the most self-destructive, idiotic things I've ever seen a flight sim developer try.

I am literally rubbing my hands together and feel like a little kid watching his kid brother, who always got away with everything, about to get caught by Dad doing something and get the whipping of his life!

This is by far the funniest and most gratifying thing I've seen in flightsim in ages.  I've despised CS for their continued shady and deceptive business practices for years, praying on simmers who saw their pretty models and slick marketing and fell for it (some, over and over which befuddles me to this day).  I've tried to make the community aware, getting some agreement by rational folks who could clearly see thru the CS smokescreen, but being opposed by others who could not get past the pretty model and tried to justify their irrational behavior because they thought that a pretty model makes a good payware developer.

I was adamite about warning people when they released their 767 with a cockpit ripped straight from their 757 with a few mods, we had a very lively discussion that hit 30 pages before Avsim shut it down.  I suggest anyone who wants a little more history on what kind of shenanigan's CS continuously tries to pull...see this thread to observe just how outrageous the community thought of release when CS constantly played with the pricing structure in an attempt to con more money from the community. (everyone thought they'd follow thru on their cute pricing for the 757 "$75.75" and the 767 would follow at "767.67".  Nope $134...but $99 if you "Act now", LOL)

CS has ALWAYS, and will ALWAYS be a company that no simmer should ever consider buying from, period.  He is a con artist plain and simple, and the past few days have proved that to just about everyone who can read.  The link above is just the place to go to recall how much we ranted about the 767 last year, as some have appeared to forgotten just how shady this "developer" really is since that release.  By the way...all the 767 customers are STILL WAITING for their Freighter and CF6 engines...care to guess why? (hint: its NOT because CS is hard at work modeling and coding them, focusing on nothing else until he honors the commitment that he'd give his customers a 767 Freighter...its more like a 737 he popped out since at $60 for a "preview" version, and now a MSFS 777 shell that he's trying to steal painters work for, you know...the usual stuff any quality developer does to service their customers.)🙄

I just found their (his) email address and sent this

'A really bad move with the free B777 liveries and the threat towards flightsim.to.  Way to go to set off hatred from the MSFS community!

Just because you put something in your TOS doesn't make it right, or legal.

I bought just about everything CS did for FSX.  I will never touch another product of CS again after this.'

I don't expect it to have any impact, as people like this have no shame and don't get concerned unless the big boys (MS / Asobo / Airlines) get involved.  I hope they do.

Yeah sadly unless official entities get involved there will only be vocal outrage and little else.  I hope flightsim.to will do something on their banner page noting what CS did...that would get a lot of exposure!

I just wrote to them and asked them to do just that.

I just posted this at CS...it was deleted in minutes. (I'm probably banned too...I have not checked)
