Yeah, I just read that Facebook post that all of the old Captain Sim developers have moved on and only the one guy left basically knows how to convert models and edit .xmls... No actual development skills.  I'm glad I got that information because I will not buy it now. 

Now we all know how Captain Sim went from mid tier but decent developer to this.   It also explains why the ACE liveries are all very old.

If that's true then we can forget about any notion of nice new versions of their 707 and 727 and C-130 for MSFS. That's a shame, they were good, but I'm sure someone else will step up to the plate and have a crack at it, so no worries.

I was IN LOVE with their 727 and 707. Even if they make it now, i wont be buying it anyway. Im contemplating tackling a 727 myself, maybe in a few years.

This whole scenario is the poster child now of cheap scamware flight sim add-ons. The type that literally dominate SimMarket. Sketchy details, clever word play to make it sound like a top tier addon and all you end up getting is barely supported trash made by a company that barely exists or only exists in their imagination 

Edit: Also the irony of them complaining about  (free) repaints but it's ok for them to use default Asobo assets to sell payware.

My new name for them is Corporal Sim, since they appear to be acting a bit like a rather famous Austrian one who was about in the 1940s. 🤣

I always thought that developers would fare well with repaints, modifications or add ons because it brings attention to their product.

Some (most) even offer repaint kits.  This corparal (as Chock calls him) must have a mist in his head,

It really shows how out of touch they are. This isn't the MSFS market/community of the past where it was a "Us Vs Them" attitude. Yes sure, many veterans fly it but I mean the overall palpable `we're in this together' friendly and sharing nature of what MSFS brought really shows how much things have changed on the internet and modding communities. It's amazing and so welcoming.

Then you have stragglers like this who still think it's internet 2003 and they can instill fear into the freeware community with questionable legal threats.

The thing I don't understand about it, is that there is literally no reason for them to do this, it gains them nothing other than utter contempt from the flight sim community to actively prevent there being more than one outlet for repaints other than via their ACE utility (unless they were planning on releasing a livery package and charging for it, which seems a likely speculation). But they would have to have been living under a rock to be unaware of those Papa Tango and Ariane fiascos from years ago which tried that cobblers, and how that ended up for those twonks. This is literally one of the most self-destructive, idiotic things I've ever seen a flight sim developer try.

This i s realy bad done of the CS Team, 👿  - i still love their work but this could kill this Developer and that would then be their own fault.. ( most likely ) !

After their `legal takedown' of repaints I'm surprised you didn't get a takedown notice for your review of this plane. I can see it now

* - Items displayed in your video belong to CS and therefore violate the TOS. You do not have permission to host anything involving CS textures whether it be in frames per second, as we do PNG files

* - Derogatory remarks towards our work falls under harassment and you could be charged with libel

* - Please cease and desist being honest and making us work so hard to scrape what is left of our reputation out of the grass
