Well....30 pages of the CS 767 fiasco was apparently not enough to shut this guy down...and personally I'll keep trying until we do.

If I can keep just one simmer from falling into his slick marketing schemes, I think 100 pages would be worth it....besides, its not like we're paying by the post to read each one?

Moving on to what would be my question to you?  Let's move on until we see the 777-300 and Freighter shells he's already announced, ready to grab another $30 for each by unsuspecting MSFS simmers who've never heard of CS?  No thanks.  I'd rather keep the discussion open to see if we could get him shut down or at least change his business practices.

I hope that is a worthy cause and worthy of keeping this on the front burner.

I have a bunch of their FSX fleet but never upgraded. Bought while on sale and would never pay full price for anything from CS. Just sayin'!

Easy....buy a 3d printer, print out all the CS stuff you have, we'll gather it all together and make a big bonfire out of it and dance around it in celebration if we ever get CS to either radically change or leave for good. 🙂

In the mean time....EVERYONE...just resist the urge to impulse-buy their next release (I'm sure coming shortly when CS can take a break from rapid-fire deleting posts and whole threads at his website) LOL

He did put the post back....and tried for a moment to make a "Version II" of it that failed...and my posts are back in the original thread.

Seems that he had a temper tantrum, rage-deleted the whole thread, thought better of it...tried to bring back a version II with edited content....thought better of THAT, deleted and locked THAT one...then put the original thread back in tact. 🤣

Yep...if the old boy spent more time developing planes vs putting out fires in his forums HE created...we probably have a 767 Freighter and CF6 engines by now (for an additional $60 is my guess for the price) 😄

LOL you can't make this up. This is the most entertaining thing in the FlightSim community since DoveTail Games thought they could make a better sim than FSX by locking out any public addons and modifications behind their walled garden (like TrainSimWorld) so they get a cut of the action. And failing miserably at it to the point they cancelled the entire project in less than a year

When I speak of negative "reviews" on YouTube, I'm referring to those, like that of Drawyah, that consist of a streamed flight along with his negative comments on the product.  I suspect Zombie Captain Sim would have no compunction about coming up with a new licensing term stating that no footage of their product could be aired or streamed without their permission, and YouTube would probably go along with it.  Absurd?  Sure, but it was also absurd to issue the takedown order at flightsim.to.  The latter could probably have fought it, but decided it wasn't worth the risk and bother to them; that seems to be the standard operating procedure at YouTube as well.

Here's the irony:  if he had hired someone here like tod for a few bucks to just clean up the displays and the contact points (you know, the work they were willing to do for free here just to make the aircraft more believable), he probably could have sold his base product for $40, and no one would have complained.  Sure, they would have said, it's a "777-Lite," but it looks nice and would fill the bill for casual simmers, and probably for many others who would use it as a stopgap until PMDG released theirs.

There is no question powerful entities can get away with questionable practices for all sorts of reasons, backed by lobbyists, and billions of their own dollars. Google has broken just about every antitrust law in existence at one point or another, but these laws are really no longer enforced in the US unfortunately.

However, CS is neither a powerful entity nor has billions of dollar. His company will probably live or die on reputation alone, but who knows. Maybe it's all a psychological experiment on us (hah).

 

 

I stopped caring about them after the 757, i bought their 767 as they said that they had fixed the VNAV performance issue, and yet, I'm still descending at 498 knots with that thing. And now this? It's really hard to think where they are going to go from here, but I would bet that CS is going to end up doing something even more outlandish than what they're doing right now.

As I repeated numerous times. This is not the internet of 2003. Your own community will literally eat you alive for trying stuff like  this and they did with vengeance.

No, not he isn't. He's only sorry for getting caught being a complete and utter [insert every banned word on AVSIM here] developer and had no choice in the matter. Users were pulling out, vendors were boycotting his products. 

DO NOT BE FOOLED. He is far from sorry, he literally had no choice except quadruple down on his stupid policies and risk losing the company or reversing course with crocodile tears pretending this was just a "bad day" and he didn't mean it.

He meant every word of it to the point he accused the repaint community of pirating his product.  Stop buying their products. He is a carny.
