Carenado Piper Seneca Controls Sensitivity

Featured Replies

I purchased the Carenado Piper Seneca and it seems too sensitive on the controls.  Is there a setting like in the FSX days to correct this?  Or do I have to adjust the controls (CH yoke and pedals) via FS2020?

it just does not seem realistic.

Thanks !

I have my controls set up for fairly low sensitivity (less that 50% of default) from the MSFS controls menu, and the Senaca and all other aircraft I fly seem to respond fine.
I dare say it wouldn't be good enough for aerobatic flying in the sim, but I have never done that anyway.

I heard they were working on putting individual aircraft settings / sensitivity into the sim in some way, but I don't know if it is implemented yet.
I am not at my MSFS PC, but the first place I would look is when you select the aircraft - there are different menus for liveries etc, and there may be a settings menu in there.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yup, you need to tweak the sensitivities in the sim, otherwise the Seneca is way too sensitive in pitch.

Even rudder control is sensitive....

Thanks!

I have specific sensitivity settings for each aircraft I use.

Is it possible to set up axis sensitivity by aircraft?  I thought it was one setting for all in MSFS?

I could be very wrong as I’ve only flown it just twice now since buying it yesterday... but I don’t believe there is an altitude set with the AP.

Wierd but all other planes feel over-sensitive except this one.

Go for 75% sensitivity on the rudder otherwise.

Ground Services shows nothing..

thanks!

Got it to push back but I don’t know how...

I need the A/C manual!

It is worth noting that the default aileron sensitivity is decelerated early on and then accelerated.  Something like you would expect with a sensitivity in the negatives somewhere.

If you leave the sensitivity at zero (linear) and rotate your yoke and watch the in game yoke it moves very slowly getting to maybe 50% while your real yoke is more like 75% - then suddenly everything happens at once. Your real Yoke and the in game Yoke match up at 0% and 100% aileron - it is just in between that gets very whacky.  The Fulcrum guys recommend +50%  sensitivity to get back close to a linear relationship.

I've tried everything I can think of to get decent pitch sensitivity and I'm close, but it's still too sensitive.  I'm at -75% sensitivity on both...getting close to flat line and it still moves the aircraft up and down with a micro movement on my stick.  I tried the entire range on the sensitivity and even adjusted the model.cfg file pitch and rudder effectiveness values, but I can't seem to get the sensitivity dialed in.

Seems to me that the sensitivity settings are not applied to my yoke until I go into the sensitivity menu, change something then "Apply and Save." Idea here is to force MSFS to reapply the settings even if nothing is actually changed. Probably a placebo effect ala chicken soup.

Carenado Mooney and Asobo C172 are the worst.
