May 18, 20215 yr I know it's been a pervasive issue but just wondering if anyone has insights into the issues. Mine stopped logging flights after 254h, and what I notice always is with a gate to gate, from start up to shutdown of the avionics the logbook always shows my departure and arrival airports are the same, the departure airport. May 18, 20215 yr Do you have Dev mode turned on? My understanding is that flights are not logged with Dev mode on. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
May 18, 20215 yr Yes, he's right about dev mode. Also, I think it only really records things if you spawn on the runway.

My understanding is that flights are not logged with Dev mode on. ...jim A few weeks ago I started turning Dev mode on briefly, after the plane is at the gate but before starting engines, to clear the log of errors/warnings/messages then I turn Dev mode off. I'm pretty sure the failed logging was happening before this habit, but perhaps not so will check--thanks Jim n Andy. If you read my other post on this clearning of the log this is what turns off the spinning indicator on the lower right of the screen which for me happens very frequently, sometimes constantly, and is assoc w/ micro stutters w/ every display of the indicator. I think what you're saying is that logging flights does still work which is good to know thanks! For me it will log flights started other than on the runway, such as cold and dark from a parking spot. But though it logs the hours the log entry lacks a departure airport. May 19, 20215 yr I don't use developer mode and I usually spawn on the runway. Nonetheless, my flight log hasn't worked at all in well over six weeks. May 20, 20215 yr Author Good news--at least for me! I discovered I can clear the Dev Mode logger of warnings/errors/message BEFORE hitting the FLY button in the WELCOME screen after creating my flight plan, so as to eliminate the whirling dervish load indicator which was associated w/ microstutters per display and sometimes it would spin every few seconds. Previously, I would hit FLY to load the plane at the departure gate, then clear the logger before hitting FLY at the gate and before starting engines. Because of this change I see my hours went up for the first time in months and of course the dervish almost never displayed during those 3h. Cheers and thanks for the insight that Dev Mode was involved in this. Not quite there yet 😧. The flight I did was KSMF>CYVR and logged this flight. I'm trying PHTO>PHLI right now in the same plane, but the spinner appeared somewhat frequently again, so not sure why yet. After TO and noticing the spinner was happening again, so I went to Dev Mode and just cleared warning/errors, but not messages. Spinner gone but don't know if hours will log until we get to PHLI... May 20, 20215 yr I just log all my flights in an Excel spreadsheet. I dont trust MSFS to do it correctly

May 20, 20215 yr Author Dang! Still not sure what happened! Last nights arrival into PHLI did not log, nor did this morning's flight back to PHKO. I let AI pilot the arrival to the gate, and no joy again. But for one 2.5h flight to CYVR it did get logged correctly! It's a complete mystery once again . In my troubleshooting I did go into Dev Mode prior to launching to the gate but this time didn't even clear the log--I just went into Dev Mode, saved it, then went out of Dev Mode and saved, and again the spinner didn't rear its microstuttering head. But no joy on logged flights. The big mystery still is why the one longer flight that logged out of the last 50?
