New "Launching Game" screen

Recommended Posts

The very basic requirement for a good user experience is to give immediately response for user action. It seems that Asobo doesn't know how to design a good UI.

I heard it mentioned by someone else but don't get it so far. Thanks for the hint, I'll investigate what myy block it for me. I use a batch file and the -faststart option to start MSFS, maybe this does suppress it.

Kind regards, Michael

I would think so. Only way to know is turn it off, then back on? Cause you skip all the screens right? Or do you?

I thought this was a joke when I first read it. Got home last night and clicked on my taskbar icon, no slaph screen just the normal 10 seconds of "did I press it?????"

MS version, so why is it not working? Any ideas?

I saw it last night after a Windows 'restart'.  Believe it or not, 'shut down and then start' may not trigger certain parts of updates.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

Works for me as of today, both with the FSUIPC .bat file as well as the MSFS shortcut (both with the FastLaunch option).

I have just tried starting from both the Task Bar and the 'icon'. In both instances I had the usual wait, so nothing new for me.🙂

Some users report that they did not get the splash screen until after installing a new Windows update that just came out a couple of days ago relating to .Net. I did not see the splash screen on my first few runs of MSFS after SU4, but I did install the .Net update last night, and when I launched the sim, I had the new screen.

Like others, I also find that it is no longer possible to run MSFS as admin, but it works fine when launched as a regular user.

The .Net update was the only pending Windows update when I ran the “check for new updates” function. I wasn’t aware that others have reported that particular update seems to enable the new splash screen until today, but I definitely saw it for the first time last night when running MSFS after doing the update.
