Yay!.. I finally got my pants off!..

To all those that may be interested, after the superb C172 bush mods and amphibian versions, Bagolu does it again - the C172 is now available without wheel pants.

I have been after this mod for some time.  I have never liked the look of the wheel fairings.

I may use this plane to do my cross USA flight (all mainland states) in the colours of Mr. Aviation 101 (on YouTube - well worth a watch).
In one of his YouTube videos, he says he removed them on his plane as he said the extra weight and difficulty servicing the brakes etc. wasn't worth any extra aerodynamic saving (in his view), plus the cost to get them refurbished.
I just don't like the look of the fairings - simple as that.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yeah. Wheel fairings have no place on the 172..  It gives it that "trying too hard" look. This is perfect!

You will lose about 10 mph in cruise, in real life anyway.

My theory.. If you're flying a 172, you're not looking to get anywhere quick anyway.. 😄

Disappointed! I expected bobcat to drop pants! But instead I found a mod for wheel fairing!  😆

When took mine off I think I've noticed insignificant loss of 3 to 5 kts. Not much frankly!

Wheel fairing are nice unless airplane involved in fight training ! Then they got beaten up badly, but then we can see bold spots before flight!
