Throttles not working on DC 6 ?

Other thread became a conspiracy plot so here goes again..

How do you get your throttles in the DC6 to actually move? I have tried to use the mouse (grab and drag) like we do on any other MSFS plane and no go. I also tried to setup controller in many different ways but no movement.

Yes I have the "gust lock" off and the "throttle lock" off and the "flight engineer" off so none of them seem to be the cause.

You have to map to an axis. There is 4 of them.  Increase or Decrease throttle won't work.

Using an old Xbox controller so no axis...they might have a problem when the new xbox version comes out.

I think that's a bug that they want to fix with the xbox controller.

ok PMDG didn't think people fly with xbox controller. They did mention they will look into it.

I have been flying fsx all versions from the beginng and have had almost every controller made at one time but now, as an old guy, I just use an xbox controller. If they want those with the new xbox to use this plane when MSFS becomes available for it next month they will have to lower their standards...

yet....should be an option.  I use a xbox controller when casually playing in my living room.  I use a full set of saitek products when playing in my man cave.  So, I would like to be able to use the dc6 wherever i want to play.

It would certainly be within pmdg's interest to be able to get sales from people with a xbox and just the xbox controller, dont you think?

you can simply use f3 and f2 on the kb, remove throttle assignments on your controller, make a new dc6 profile(so your old profiel keeps)

and they work on it to make it controller flyable, so np there.

i have an old x45 saitek throttle and stick, same issue cant get the throttle to work, so i use f2/f3 for now. works pretty well.

yo need them keep pressed to change much.

good luck.

Just the thing to control a complex 4 engine aircraft.

Yes it is and have no trouble with A2A heavies, just PMDG. The thing is I find it amusing that us developers put hours and hours of work making a cockpit with all controls working and the user instead buys a bunch of odds and ends that clutter up his space and then does not use any of the virtual controls. For me  simpler is better and I will stick to the virtual cockpit as much as possible.

Just a bit of “MSFS naïveté” on the part of PMDG, considering that this is their first foray into the platform. They simply did not consider that anyone would use an X-Box controller. I’m sure they will add that functionality in the first update.

The DC-6 won’t be available on the X-Box platform in any case until they join the Marketplace, which apparently is not going to happen for some time.
