Just get a second monitor. You can get a 24 inch 1080 monitor very cheap.

PMDG posted the manual on their forums, unless someone wants to upload it and share the link. If it's OK with the mods then I can do it

PMDG have written  a Copyright in their manuals. I don't think it's a good idea to upload it.

My first truly good payware aircraft was the PMDG 747 in FSX. Absolutely blew my mind compared to everything I'd messed with before, and turned me into a much more serious (and wallet-drained!) simmer. I quickly got their other jets, Leonardo's MD-80/DC9, and A2A's Constellation. Been a great, if expensive, ride ever since. 😉

I watched Rob's video about slowing down more than once to understand how to do this right.  

Now it works quite easily if I level off at 3,000 ft, hold altitude using the gyro pilot, activate the "in range" checklist, if I haven't done so already (this makes sure the hydraulics for the flaps is on), and stop the AFE once this is finished. Then lower the RPM to 2000-2100 (this is what I missed in the beginning), and reduce throttle to around 90 BMEP. 

The DC-6 then slows down nicely to around 174 knots, and then I can keep adding flaps to keep slowing down.

Anyway, Rob does a great job at explaining even the more complicated topics in a calm yet engaging way, absolutely worth watching every minute of them.

Sounds like it may be the RPM bit I'm missing ?

Plane would be no fun if there was no nuance in flying it that had to be learn and refined 🙂

You have a very similar pc setup compared to mine, how's performance, is your rig able to maintain at least 30fms?

Performance is surprisingly well on my mid grade system.  I'm surprised I can pan around the cockpit so well
