July 5, 20214 yr For years, I have preferred using the Xbox controller for my flight simming, even on P3D and FSX. For me, the Xbox controller feels more natural and also boasts very intuitive camera POV control out of the box. I predicted on this forum almost a year ago that a high number of those using MSFS, including me, will eventually migrate to Xbox X. As someone who used to program back in the 1980s, there is a great joy in writing code that, for every user, will be executed on identical hardware. That alone forestalls 90% of the problems that arise after release. July 5, 20214 yr Author Thanks all for the answers. Well, I’m a simmer and not a Flight Sim Gamer. But I spent too much effort on my machine to get it running MSFS. And there is it. Ok, I had other games installed on there but every single time someone came home, oh let’s go to my room and play FIFA in my very big PC? Just much better to play in my living room. Another important point for me is… time. Flight Simulation is time consuming and I don’t spend the time enjoying it properly. Spent £££ to build a machine to barely play it. It is interesting to know all people’s point of view. But for me, having the opportunity to play MSFS in 4K @30 FPS is attractive for me. I sold my PC for £850 and got the Series X for 440. I can now sell my 1080p no-HDR monitor for around 80£ and buy a 27” 1440p 120Hz HDR10 VRR monitor for £500 around. Asobo said that with VRR, users will be able to get more than 30 FPS. Or maybe get a 32” 4k, dunno yet. So basically for me, the change is from a 1080p non-HDR 75Hz 24.5” Flight Sim screen experience to a 1440p HDR10 27” 120Hz Flight Sim experience, for “free”. (actually, not only Flight Sim but all the games I play). For the community, I will bring my review on 27th to this forum. As I said, I am a very old simmer, been “playing” / “flying” since FS95.

I paid ~£439 including tax and shipping (I live in the UK). Bought it last Friday and it arrived today. Amazon.de has lots of deals and Series X usually appears on Friday morning there so keep your eyes on it! 😄
July 5, 20214 yr Pardon the mess.. its cleaning day 🙂 Got the Xbox but i cant ever see a scenario where im using the above instead of the PC for flightsim. Too many variables to tinker with than the closed ecosystem that the xbox is sure to have. Probably will be a nice package deal for someone else though. Just not me. July 5, 20214 yr I think that the XBOX is going to improve the sim for everyone as it will be very clear how the game performs on the XBOX and there will be no hardware differences to cloud the differences in performance/game bugs etc. Personally I will be moving off my high end gaming laptop onto my Series X. I am already a Game Pass subscriber so my Deluxe version will install with no more payment. The game optimization that will be possible on the XBOX will match all but the highest spec PC. My jaw hit the floor when I walked around London in Watchdogs Legion on my Series X. Here are two pics comparing real and in-game. I think most simmers would be pretty happy with the in-game scenery especially 60fps 4k which Legion can run at.

You don't need to be a gamepass subscriber to use it crossplatorm. Just buying the sim on the MS Store is enough. Unless you're saying you got it on gamepass and bought the deluxe upgrade on top of that. Edited July 5, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

July 6, 20214 yr I have an X-Box for the grand kids to play games on. I never touch it, don't know how to use it. There is no chance of a snowball in the hot place that I will be flying using X-Box, I'm in to simulation not flight gaming. I want flying immersion, not "golly gee whiz". I want it about the planes, the technical aspects of flying by the numbers, rules and surviving. So no to X-Box. Bryan Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3

That seems like a very open-minded and carefully considered position. 😄 Edited July 6, 20214 yr by kaosfere

Bryan The X-Box version will be identical to the PC version, and some companies have or are making flight sticks (and HOTAS setups) for the X-Box. It's just a different platform. A question was asked and I answered, I don't need your opinion about my opinion. I just don't care about its capabilities, nor spending more bloody money on more stuff. My Office and flightsim HQ works just fine for me. I have a perfectly good high end PC with all the flying support controllers I need. I can fly my MS2020 and XP flight sims getting the best of both worlds. I don't see an XP X-Box version being offered. Perhaps you might think a little before attacking someone's view. My PC serves as my book writing, movie making, photo hobby centerpiece. Let me know when X bloody box does all that stuff. This place is just full of folks who can't resist dumping on others, drives be bloody nuts at times. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3

As I mention above, I don't actually care about X-Box because I don't need it to do what I already have nicely in my PC. Further I'm not a one sim guy and have a robust XP setup which in many ways is far superior to MS especially its planes. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
