Different airports in MSFS are amazing.

The handcrafted default airports are often quite good.

I am a bit of a sucker for buying addons with a gimmick though ...

For a default ... the Outer Skerries is a favourite and pretty spectacular, well worth a visit if anyone has not been there yet  ... short clip of a j160 circuit with slightly above max demonstrated crosswind ...

However with paid addons I am a real sucker for gimmicky stuff such as the hang gliders at SBGV Governador Valdares, the beach party near TNCM Juliana St Maarten or the dairy cows and hot air balloons at LFKL Brindas below ...

Thanks, and you enjoy your scenery both handcrafted, payware, or freeware 🙂 No boat was harmed in this photo, too funny! Amazing place and EG78 in MSFS!

I think people are forgetting what the really small airports looked like in past versions of FS.  Some would just be a runway with nothing else.  Others might give you a concrete parking area, and maybe (sometimes), some grey rectangles that were supposed to be buildings.  Most of the small airports in MSFS at least have something that looks believable, even if it isn't accurate.  MSFS can still be hit or miss for sure, but I find the really small GA airports around me are really well done.

I use FSEconomy a lot and anytime in old sims if you got an assignment to a really small airport, you'd have to set up a flight there and make sure something is there first.  You usually at least had to search for an afcad file to make sure that there's an actual taxiway.

Yeah, a runway with a brown rectangular block around it, beyond ugly.

Have you acquired and visited the addon KESN for MSFS? He did a very nice job.   I am inquiring of another scenery author to see if he would handcraft the distinctive primary ops facility and provide it to the KESN addon author, who by skillset was limited to use of stock MSFS scenery objects. That author/developer just made available an incredibly great Hilton Head, SC, airport (KHXD) that includes a great deal of great handcrafted objects!.

Just downloaded it...I did not even know about it.  Looking forward to trying it out!  Is SugarBuns the same place that was there in the 90's or is that a newer place?

The scenery is, the Outer Skerries came free with the UK world update.

( the Jabiru J160 of course is payware from the marketplace or Orbx )

That's awesome! I really need to explore more of the world lol. I insist on flying in the Caribbean too much. I did go looking for the Outer Skerries last night but there was so much fog I could barely see a thing

Not sure.  I moved to this area in 2010.  It has been there most if not all of that time.
