July 25, 20214 yr Commercial Member Hi there guys! Thanks to @mrfilbert for his awesome review, and a HUGE thank you to all of you who commented here with words of support and their suggestions about future upgrades to the airport. My little note at the end about the "pricey" part. I agree that the price isn't the lowest on the market, and as I've mentioned before on other platforms, my justification to that is a lot of hard work that has been put into this airport and the fact that it's not a conversion from an older platform as the majority of MSFS airports now are, instead, it's a completely new airport built from the ground up using all my knowledge that I've gained on my way through this scenery venture. I won't go deep into the costs of development and tools that are needed for that, but I'll top this off this way: There are different people with different tastes and views on how much an airport can cost, nothing wrong with that at all. I'm a huge fan of beefy sales myself, and whenever ORBX does a sale so do I together with them as a proud partner, during those times all my airports are discounted at 50%, which I reckon is a decent discount. Edinburgh will also be available on MSFS Marketplace in about a month since Microsoft Publishing Team is a bit busy with all other releases. Happy flights to all of you, I appreciate your interest in my work, this keeps my passion alive, thank you!
July 25, 20214 yr @pyreegue Hello and welcome to AVSIM. If this wasn't my home airport, I would have waited for a review (which of course we now have) before making a decision on an airport of this price, but I saw enough in the screenshots to convince me. Definitely worth it.👍 I hope it was clear that none of my comments were complaints. If you are interested in 'fixing' the Spitfire, this is a pretty good photograph of how it normally looks. And this is the plaque in front of it. It's quite hard to find photos of the small mound the tower sits on, I suppose because it is really quite small compared to the tower itself. But an example is the 3rd photo here (that view would be from the road), and the 3rd photo on the architects' site. Often a few rabbits sitting on it. Truth is, there are probably very few people who would be at all bothered by the above, especially as they don't affect actually using the airport in the sim. One minor annoyance (which I expect is a limit of the sim) is that the sim sends generic motorised airstairs to the plane when you have beautifully modelled all the real manually positioned airstairs which are actually used there. But I suppose Asobo would actually have to enable manual airstairs to be animated, and ideally provide ground crew which would move them about. Maybe too much to wish for! If you really wanted to improve the already wonderful interior of the terminal, there is a large departures board on the floor as soon as you come through the Duty Free shop which joins landside to air side (assuming it hasn't been removed since the start of Covid as I haven't been there since March 2020 😒 ), I can't find a photo of it unfortunately. We could maybe have a fire engine outside the front of the fire station. Passengers, and static Airlink buses would be a nice addition. Just a few ideas to keep you busy. Then you can hopefully do EGAA Belfast International 😉 Edited July 25, 20214 yr by 109Sqn OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
July 25, 20214 yr Price is fine for the level of work that has been put into this airport imo, there's more expensive addons that are miles behind this quality. Mostly I was limited by the images available online, and quite a big chunk of stuff was made possible thanks to @Donka who was my #1 photo supplier and also consulted me on many aspects of this lovely airport. P.S. Belfast looks lovely, I’ll definitely consider it as an option for my next destination.

Oh well, it's not a big deal if you can't fix it. I'm sure it is quite a challenge working from what you can find online. You've made a great job of it. Belfast would be an interesting project, especially as it is still an active military base as well, occupied by "Joint Helicopter Command Flying Station, Aldergrove", operating Britten-Norman Defenders and Islanders (RAF), Gazelle helicopters (Army), Eurocopter EC135 and EC145 (Police) and Grob Tutors (RAF training). It is also frequently a stopover base for US aircraft such as Hercules and AWACS aircraft. So there is plenty of interest to model.👍 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
July 25, 20214 yr Great review Filbert, you really give a sense of what a great airport development this is. The quality is excellent - it truly sets a very high bar and I know the amount of work and detail Pyreegue put into this. I’m just lucky to have such a quality release for my local airport. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.
July 26, 20214 yr Thank you mrfilbert for this awesome video! @pyreegue I have to say, you work on this airport is really work of art that also sets high standards for paid airports! However, something I was bothered about with this super high quality airport is the use of the default taxiway lighting, since MSFS SDK already supports custom taxiway lighting and also we have seen that in couple of paid airports as well as freeware, do you consider the use of custom taxiway lighting in the future updates? Thanks 🙂 Edited July 26, 20214 yr by omarsmak30 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
