Squirrel posted a tutorial video on landing with the new Xbox.  It looks really good mostly.  Closer inspection you will notice toward the end of the clip the city is reloaded (12:06) and on taxi some terminal buildings only have roofs (16:02).

Kind regards,

Tim

They advertised like this, and people purchased the product

Now, it looks totally different

To increase the performance, you don't have to reduce the visuals.

You're exaggerating way beyond what you need to.

I have an eye for graphics - without revealing too much, I work with 3d graphics a *lot*. There is no massive graphics downgrade, and

"To increase the performance, you don't have to reduce the visuals" is just an uneducated statement. Sure, CPU and GPU optimizations can be made, but past what was already made (and resulted in the massive FPS boost we have), eventually, you need to lower graphics. Trust me, compared to other games - heck, going back to Forza Motorsport 5 - the difference between the reveal trailer and the gameplay of FS2020 is... essentially zero.

The only thing I will agree with is the odd color banding. It is, as far as I can tell, a glitch with the PP filter.

It doesn't look "totally different".

There is no massive graphics downgrade ???

Are you serious ??

Not for me there isn't. Maybe it's your system or particular setup. It's obvious that not everyone is getting the same results with SU5.

Yes. Please provide screenshots before and after this update and this update and one of the first release builds, with reasonably matching locations, TOD, and weather, and the exact same graphics settings. Then we can discuss if the downgrades exist and where they are.

A side note - the "popping in" of ground textures and LOD can be from a variety of factors. If this is what you are referring to, then I mostly agree, it is a substantial downgrade. However, I haven't seen any word from Asobo on the subject, and the aforementioned variety of factors can range from "oops, we accidentally forgot to change a line in the build" to "Bing maps/fs2020 autogen/texture servers are under substantial load, so it takes a while for it to stream to you".

What are your LOD sliders set to?

I've tried a few settings.  Right now the slider is 200.

I mean, what were you LOD settings originally when you said the ground looked blurry?

I will upload, tomorrow, many screenshots , including from 2020, August, shortly after the MSFS 2020 release.

The popping in issue does not really bother me, tbh. I can live with it.

The trees look ok for me, water as well..

But the clouds, they look different now.

Very different. That's what I mean with a massive graphics downgrade.

They look oversaturated, there is no more self shadow, but green and magenta.

Maybe it's just me, and other guys, maybe you have no issues with the latest update, i don't know, but all I can say is, the clouds, right now, look like the ones from P3D

80 I think.  But they're blurry at 200 as well.  Above FL200

For me the obvious backwards steps are the Clouds, even on Ultra, and some cockpit textures.

Everything else is fine or even improved.

In one of the earlier incarnations of "Asobo-has ruined-everything!"

(A couple of updates ago)

Somebody had fortunately taken a video of the previous update to do an actual comparison.

The video showed no apparent LOD change, even as people were yelling bloody murder.

Asobo made a post that they hadn't changed anything graphically, and that post was completely ignored, as was the video, when I posted it here.

That's kind of when I realized I was dealing with human nature.

Now, the current situation has an obvious factual basis, but some of the howling seems just as overdone to me.

As usual, Asobo will fix things, and the situation will calm down.....

Until the next time......

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Same here

The hills, mountains, fields, buildings, water, they look OK

I'm talking only about the clouds, when I say

" graphics downgraded "

The CTD bug or some other bugs will be fixed, I'm sure about that.

I personally also see worse visuals in comparison to pre SU 5. I do not know exactly what it is, but based on these 2 Screenshots (SU4 and SU5) shadows and the whole color palette is oversaturated. Especially whites are too bright. This screenshots are taken at the same time of day with default weather.

Regarding shadows, I think you can see the degradation on the buildings on the back fairly well. Just my 2 cents.
