Constant CTD

Featured Replies

OK, so I have turned off the AI traffic, but I'm still getting constant CTD. Sometimes I get to the home screen, other times not. Other than deleting the entire package and starting over, does anyone have any tips? I've had no problems with CTDs prior to the SU5 update, so I'm going to guess something really bad has happened along the way.

BTW, how does one fully delete MSFS? I have flown FSX, P3D (thru v4), and XP (9,10,11) and this has never happened before.

I guess you already did, but is your Community folder completely empty?

Do you have the Seasons/North South installed in MSFS from the Market PLace? If so, uninstall it.

Do you have anything overclocked in the pc by chance?  I had my cpu on a slight oc and it seemed to be the source of an issue to me as well until I made a change.  I suspect more is going on under the hood than previously.  Best of luck getting this resolved.

Another suggestion i saw that worked for someone is go to your graphics settings, choose another preset (doesn't matter which) then set your graphics setting back to how you want them.   This stopped his CTD's immediately.   No idea if it works or not, I'm just throwing it out there...

Thanks no. I have also removed the G1000NXi. I have a small OC from 4.2 to 4.4 GHz, but am turning it off. Hope that does it.

I have live traffic working just fine. All you have to do is load your flight with live traffic turned off and once your loaded at the airport turn it on and no ctds. Now if I could just get some temps  at 35000 that werent plus54 with live weather I would be a happy camper

Process Lasso causes CTDs. So does running HWMonitor. Any type of overclocking can cause problems.

Running MFS can cause CTDs as well.

Yup, i can load a flight in and bang... gone just as it loads into the gate. Run the exact same set up once back in the sim, and it works fine...

So far, at least in my case, it's looking like it was the overclock from 4.2 to 4.4 GHz.

So @FrankR409 many thanks for the suggestion. No CTDs. It seems pretty clear that there is a lot going on underneath the hood now. It would have been nice if there was some sort of logging facility like that of XP to help out, but that also is no doubt complicated.

Now if only those terminal buildings at KBWI, KBOS, etc., actually had walls, that would be great. I'm guessing that will be fixed in due course.

Thanks again everyone.
