July 29, 20214 yr So following the results from SU5, it would seem there are a number of issues but not the same experiences all round. It would be good to have an update from Asobo to reflect the current situation but I guess they are either buried deep in work or counting their money from Xbox game sales. What concerns me more than anything is having confidence in this game - or the lack of it from a buyers perspective. I have limited payware so far but did have plans to expand on it and grow my sim to something quite special. Now I am in two minds. With FS9 and FSX, there were updates but this was more to fix bugs. Now with MSFS, we have large updates but the risk is that it can break things. Are people going to be put off investing in this game if there is a chance addons may be broken by the next update? Asobo could end up shooting themselves in the foot if simmers hold back on purchases because they cannot be 100% confident it will work or there is another update just around the corner. Similarly, will payware devs get fed up keep having to go back and spend time fixing existing aircraft and sceneries rather than spending time on new products. The good thing with updates is that things can get better, but I feel that confidence in MSFS has taken a bit of a hit after yesterday and an update from Asobo would go a long way to rebuild our trust and hopes... July 29, 20214 yr I do have to say that the degradation in the quality of the graphics is just not worth the admittedly substantial performance gain. Surely there must be a middle ground? I have not had any particular issues with addons most of which have been updated. But the dumbing down of the graphics is very very disapointing. Edited July 29, 20214 yr by jarmstro

They are entitled to enjoy the fruit of their hard work just like anybody else. Its not like we own them, you sound like you're the one putting the cash for their payroll. 3 minutes ago, chickster25 said: Asobo could end up shooting themselves in the foot if simmers hold back on purchases because they cannot be 100% confident it will work or there is another update in the pipeline. Confidence took a hit? You must not have been to the FB groups. Lots of people are actually enjoying this update. Dont for a second think that avsim speaks for all of us

I am not spending one penny from now on on MSFS. I will fly what I have, and that's it.

Dont for a second think that avsim speaks for all of us I have looked at a number of MSFS forums and whilst there are some satisfied customers, there is a heck of a lot that are not since yesterday. As I have no idea where this sim is headed, I wont be buying any more addons in the short term, until I feel the flying experience is good enough to warrant the expense.

Could you please tell me your system specs? Because I do not experience this at all. I understand these sort of things vary with PC setups, because not everyone has the same hardware configurations. There was a poll posted on here and it seems there are a lot more satisfied people than those that are unsatisfied. Thats because they are busy flying. I havent spent too much money on addons except for my fav the Turbo Arrow and the DC6 and CRJ. I'm quite happy not having to spend money like I did for xp and p3d. Even if development was to stop now, I could survive especially if I did with fsx, p3d and xp

Surely you must have noticed that the colours are less saturated, the contrast and lighting has gone to pot and everything just looks less crisp?

Yes I notice a slight change in the overall tone but nothing drastic at all. To me it looks even better. I run the sim in 4K with HDR and it looks spectacular. Like I mentioned before I have no problems with SU5, and this has been by far the best update for me. Especially in terms of performance increase. I get to keep the beautiful visuals and as a bonus a big difference in how the sim runs. It's pretty interesting why things tend to go so crazy here on such a regular, and in a way it's kind of mesmerizing (kind like watching a fire). Lots of full caps and multiple exclamation points...
