What happens when MSFS goes EOL?

Recommended Posts

Whats in my memory is how we all woke up to the news that the ACES team had been disbanded.

I hope in 5yrs , 8yrs this game stays strong with the addons (free and payware) coming thick and fast, PC & XBox growing and growing. To show MS that flight titles are popular so that they dont start getting ideas of pulling the plug.

I will end by saying - do not worry about such things. Enjoy the moment. Its just a baby game, been out for just 12 months. Load it up and go fly 🙂

I'm kind of more worried about when I reach EOL! 😃

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

We live in an insecure world with challenges much more severe than MSFS going EOL. Ten years are a long time, and even five are, and a lot can happen in-between, even in flight simulation land.

Perhaps, a  completely new simulator might come up which is developed behind the curtain right now, let's say by Google or LM on a new code base. There might be alliances between LR and others making XP a worthwhile competitor. Or something else might happen. I agree to @ThrottleUp: Enjoy the moment, and that's what I do.

On a more practical side, messages calling MSFS "a cartoon game" or "a continuously degenerating, rotting title" will neither MS nor Asobo motivate to shift its EOL into the future.

Kind regards, Michael

OP do you see how easily the community spends money on add-ons? This platform is a cash cow. They will eat up anything decent. No worries about EOL imo.
