GeeBees were a bear to fly... so would expect this one to be quite a handful.. 😉

I am surprised it doesn't look like its picking up much traction here.. perhaps on the main forum.

It's a little hard to tell from the photoshopped screenshots what it actually looks like, especially the cockpit so I will wait for reviews.

Flightsim.to are moving into vendor work. Is that new or have they been doing it for a while?

This aircraft is a fantasy model which has never been constructed except for aero-modelism, if I am not mistaken. I look forward to a good R1, the historical GeeBee .

Not 100% fantasy.... based on RC model 😅.

New I think, but I don't blame them. It has been a good site up to now, but they need to generate some revenue to keep moving on.
It has become so popular that bandwidth has become a problem.

It may become a genuine alternative to the official MSFS marketplace, offering freeware and payware, but with stuff that gets updated fairly quickly (even during the holiday season 😆).

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

This is what I said, « except for aeromodelism ». RC aircraft behave quite differently than real aircraft and as the R3 has never been constructed to real scale, it is a fantasy aircraft.

What is interesting is that the « meccas » of the flight simulation freeware, namely the Avsim and Flightsim.com libraries, have been supplanted so fast by this new site coming out of nowhere, at least for MFS addons. If they enter the commercial market,  the traditional vendors have to watch out 😄.

They’ve certainly built up a user base to leverage.

the Alabeo GeeBee was one of my favourite aircraft in P3D, and I still have hopes that it may yet arrive in MSFS. Meanwhile, I got myself a copy of this and will try it out later. Love the look of it in plan view - the wings are very Spitfire like, but in profile I think it looks ridiculous. But not in a good way, unlike the R1 which I feel does look rather splendid.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I bought it and flew it for an hour last night.  It reminds me of the Got-Gravel Vertigo,  which is based loosely on Mike Patey's Turbulence.    I'd say that it's definitely closer to the "Fun" end of the spectrum than the "Study" end of the spectrum.   The flight models feel remotely similar, imo.  The most noticeable difference being the power to weight of the Vertigo,  and the R3 having it's own distinctive spoilers.   I guess what I'm saying is that it's fun to fly,  it's a nice package,   but in the back of your mind you might occasionally feel a bit dirty because you can climb like an angle,  and pull ridiculous g loadings.

On the other hand,  it's intended role is air racing.   The above considerations aren't as much of a factor if everyone in the race is flying an R3,  and you're trying to be ultra smooth on the stick instead of ripping the wings off.   The smoke system is definitely cool,  imo.      Not really into the nitrous.
