and the usual:

that's it! back to fsx!

I had 6 CTD, all at the landingphase. If this will not fix, the sim is unplayeble for me and I had to look to alternative.

Sad to say that.😞

I thought you had jumped into your cockpit to bypass the forced update check just in time?

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Do you have Capture One software on your computer? If so this might help:

I'm flying from Mannheim to Luxembourg in a 152 and haven't seen a tree for about an hour.  Asobo really does have some anti-green agenda going on!

Thanks for your advice, but no, have nothing like that, and the rig is unchanged in any case, its only used for the sim.

I saw a petunia in downtown Burbank.

here we go, the obligatory pre-update suspension relief thread 😊

Okay I understand.

The one time I had that bug, it was outdated mods in the Community folder. Especially scenery mods, not necessarily from the same place the CTD happened.

What have you done to try and fix your problem?

I had two (CTD) right after my comprehensive purge and reinstall.  I was attempting to start a flight from a small airport in the Portland, Oregon, USA, area.  I had six different scenery mods for that area in use.  After two consecutive CTDs, both near the same place after takeoff, I removed all six mods and I have now flown 15 flights for just under 40 hours with no more CTDs.  I have flown in the Portland area twice during that period and the (2) KPDX mods (airport, and airport elevation fixes) are the only two I have repositioned. I also have eliminated the so called short trees mod.

15 flights and 40 hours without a sim freeze, avionics freeze, or CTD seems like a miracle to me.  For six months I was able to complete only about 33% of my flights start to finish and had mostly reverted to FSX SE during that period.

My absolute purge and fresh install of MSFS (MS Store version) included tracking down and purging all widows and orphans files, registry cleaning, and then the fresh install into a custom location near the surface of my folder structures.  I always suspected that ridiculously deep default MS Store installation.

Want to see what CTDs are like, load up MSFS with mods.

I wonder what surprise awaits us this morning with his update:. Possibilities to run the Hotfix.

1  Launch MS Market Place

2 Launch X Box App

Not meaning to sound smug, but I am sooooooo glad I bought MFS through Steam, the client updates just work automatically. Microsoft have a history of constantly changing their online sales platform, all the way back to GFWL marketplace and probably prior, right now you need MS Store and you might need the Xbox App too for the update to begin, that's if the Xbox game bar doesn't cause a crash.

Not the developers (Asobo) fault of course, as Microsoft is the publisher they insist it's done through their etailing platforms.
