You dont need any axis for this. IRL no axis in PC-6 for beta stage also, IDLE does this job. You are right - you don't need any axis to put the PC-6 into beta, simply idle. What I mean is - MV uses "spoilers" to simulate the resistance of the propdisk to avoid overspeeding in beta mode at high descent rates. It is not based on the flight model, it is simply a trick. Because that you can not map the spoiler axis .... And as Glenn Fitzpatrick already mentioned - it is business. Comes first - served first. MV took the easiest way. They had already a porter. Standard G1000, no special flightmodel, standard turboprop model. I do not blame MV. And for sure a lot of people will like their porter. But as I already said - the project from FSG looks more promesing to me ..... Best regards Detlef

Can i ask you, do you play any Steam or Epic games or Microsoft Store games? Really any games at all? To give you an example. If i play mostly any steam games and i close steam down. Guess what the game closes down with it, DRM, pretty simple. We live in a world where there a lots of DRM's.And yes there all word not allowed and can do without them but Its something we have to get used to. Just because the Porter has a DRM, thats fine they want to protect there property. So lighten up buy it or don't. But dont pretend that it has OH LORD a service that runs in the background to be the end of the earth. I would expect Fenix's A320 to have something similar aswell. Just a guess. That is something that is not so cool. Did anyone check, is it a localised service or does it constantly send data outside?

There is the slight difference in scope and experience though. Also these are central providers for multiple developers. This is for one plane specifically. I do not like what this Is going. And you have 0 idea what it is doing. Edited September 24, 20214 yr by Deimos

The comparison is flawed. Steam will only run whenever you launch Steam. What about this Milviz service? My understanding is that it needs to be always running in the background (unless you want to do some manual service launches...)
September 24, 20214 yr Don't see how it is flawed. If i start steam then play say Mechwarrior 5 and when I'm in that game if shut down Steam. Guess what? The game closes down. So Steam needs to be running the whole time MW5 is running. And i would say Milvis service only starts and stops when MSFS is playing, or only when you start to use the plane. September 24, 20214 yr If having it running in the background is a worry then buying this would be a mistake. But you should do a quick check to see just how many other third party processes are running in the background for you right now. You may be in for a shock.

September 24, 20214 yr Commercial Member The reason we had to use a service is because of MS blocking network traffic. It’s release it with no DRM, or this. As so far counted, people had downloaded, unpaid, the Corsair over 200,000 times…. It’s close our eyes and let people steal or, put this in play. saying that we’re actively trying to mess up another dev is just not true. We’ve had this in the pipe since day one of the SDK release. The decision not to recommend the NXI is because we can’t get the engine page to play nice and the AP misreads some numbers. WT is aware of this and, as soon as that is fixed, it’s going to be recommended. In fact, you CAN use it now… if you want to… The service only checks for validation of the product whilst in use It’s otherwise not used Edited September 24, 20214 yr by Milviz Please contact oisin at milviz dot com for forum registration information. September 24, 20214 yr At first I kept the NXI installed and the only thing I noticed in a quick flight was a bug in the AP altitude being stuck at 99,999 which I didn't fancy climbing to. I'm happy to wait for this to be fixed before installing it again. In the meantime I am super happy with this aircraft.
September 24, 20214 yr 1/ For those obsessed by not having the 6-pack set, here is the opinion of Matt Dearden who was, for a few years, a pilot for Susi Air on the Porter It does seem rather odd to have such a high tech setup in what is quintessentially a bush plane but it’s amazing how the Garmin G950 glass cockpit has made flying easier and safer. The Traffic Avoidance System (TAS) and GPS terrain database are fantastic additions to the older setup providing another level of situational awareness to the pilot. I’m not 100% convinced on the Primary Flight Display (PFD – screen on the left in-front of the pilot), as I still prefer the instant familiarity of the traditional “six pack” instrument setup but it’s a small price to pay for the many additional features the whole setup offers. 10 things you didn't know about the Pilatus Porter - Matt Dearden's Flying Diaries 2/ About DRM, I always find strange not to say more, people making a big fuss about it when we know the extent of the fraud. Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

Re DRM using a dedicated windows services is a pretty extreme measure that, not least, is difficult for someone who isn't familiar with the internals of windows to control. As a personal preference I would be far more conformtable with a user space application handling the DRM rather than an autorunning service running under the local system account.
