REVIEW: Pilot Plus Bristol

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

I've just published my review of Pilot Plus' Bristol. I wasn't quite as quick off the mark as I sometimes am but hopefully it'll still prove useful if you're considering buying it. 🙂

I appreciate your reviews with the MSFS scenery .

Thanks, I have the UK2000 version but am considering this one.  I will have a close look at your review later.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

It looks very nice, but if there is one thing that I could ask developers to do, it would be to make sure that all buildings airside (including the GA areas) are given the same attention to detail as the main terminal. Flat textures and lack of 3D detail is always disappointing

As a Beta Tester for the alternate/competing version is it appropriate for you to comment on this one?

Since I have also mentioned this to Gary about UK2000 products.....yes, I do think that it is appropriate. To be honest, I am not even beta testing at the moment, since I uninstalled P3Dv4 (my only flight simulator) a couple of months ago. My spare time is currently spent on other projects, and I have no idea when (or if) I will return to flight simulation.

I agree with you about all airside buildings being given the same level of detail, one simmer might use the commercial airliner terminal while another VFR simmer might only ever use the GA facilities, each are as important as the other. Hopefully devs listen to this argument.

Is there agreement that the Pilot Plus Bristol outshines the UK2000 version or is there still a good competition for first place?

I am a big fan of Garys work, but am keen to add the best version of Bristol into my MSFS?

I have both versions. Without any doubt the Pilot Plus version is the one to go for. I don't think there's much difference in price either. The review says it all.

I have both versions and I live in Bristol - Pilot Plus is easily better - although they haven't modelled my £6.99 bacon sandwich from last Weds - so a point off there.

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

I will add though I'm still a fan of Gary's work, and I hope it can improve both in quality and price - competition is good

At £6.99 for a bacon sarny I'm not surprised they haven't modelled it.

I don't think this is fair at all. I've been as critical as anyone of some of Gary's MSFS sceneries but I wouldn't describe any of them as flat and dull.
