Performance degradation on long flights fixed?

Featured Replies

I used to be unable to do longer flights (8+ hours) because by the end of the flight I would get less than 1  FPS. This is on a very powerful machine (RTX 2080TI, i9-10900k @5ghz, nvme m2, 32gb ddr 4 @ 3.2mhz). Was this bug identified and fixed in the last SU?

ok, linking to the patch notes which contains hundreds of entries is not very helpful. I have read them, yet I have not identified a line that describes a solution to this issue. Could you instead quote the notes where this is contained?

I dont this this is the fix to the bug im talking about. I'm talking about performance degradation of the sim after long flights. I never play with real time traffic on, so it cant be that, at least not for me.

And that has what to do with performance degradation on long haul? The CJ4 can't do long haul.

That's right, the CJ4 can't but the Longitude can.

Don't read so fast.

i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.

Rome to Moscow isn't long haul. Neither is the distance from Rome to Budapest, when his problems started. 😉

I'm sorry. Please do tell me the distance I should have flown before being eligible to discuss this.

Is that with AI traffic enabled? Were you connected to multiplayer when this happened?

A couple of weeks ago I did a flight with the Longitude, ai traffic live enabled, from Berlin to Dubai, using Aerosoft's Berlin Brandenburg airport scenery and ORBX's Dubai pack.

Had a strong tailwind, and the flight took about 5 hours and 30 minutes. I didn't notice any major performance degradation.

This was wiith AI enabled and I think multiplayer. Will set up another flight and leave running to test. My PC is an identical spec to that of Andreas

Like Andreas stated above: "8+" hours. 😉
