After doing that, you may want to navigate into each of the new folders and ensure that they contain "layout.json" and "manifest.json" files. Some zip files contain an extra subfolder that contains the actual addon folder. If these are not handled correctly, they will not show up in the sim.

Very true.  When I download, I first open up the zip to see the layout...or to see if there, as you say are other folders...and then finding what I need, I then commit it to the Community Folder. I also will create my own zip with content that I want to add to the Community Folder that would be rejected as pathway too long...and when in zip form, will with EXTRACT HERE,  will properly open up and be installed in the Comm Folder. Too bad we need this work around tricks, but at least they are doable.

Might want to look into the Addons Linker. Would allow you to eliminate the above. Plus do a bunch more stuff that makes addons a lot easier to manage.

Bert, is this for the plain vanilla Asobo G36 Bonanza or the Robert Young Turbo Bonanza mod version?

btw, anyone have a link for the latest version of Robert Young's Turbo Bonanza mod?  do you know if it works after SU6?

I have logged this at Zendesk, but in the interim you can replace these files by the SU5 version if you kept a backup..

I struggled with "too long path name" errors as I made the changes.. I hope you have less trouble. 🙂

If you end up not liking the changes or something gets screwed up, you can delete the Bonanza and reinstall it in MSFS.

Suggest you get either the latest Rob Young Turbo or the G355 Improvement Project version.. they both include this fix.
