AIG Users - how many airlines have you got installed?

Featured Replies

Have just installed AIG myself and only got half a dozen airlines installed, wondering how many airlines people tend to be running.

Since most of my most recent flying has been in the states I have started off there, but will probably want global coverage.

Be interested to hear what more experienced users are running and what they think.

Same.

I fly in all the continents of the World, so I want to see all the airlines. The more local, the better.

All but a handful of airlines. Probably 900+. I have also installed quite a few GA companies (Coca-Cola, Google etc) that fly executive jets like Gulfstream etc.

I have yet to find myself alone at any airport I have located to. It’s a marvellous addition to P3D.

Less than 2 minutes but I haven’t set my stopwatch. There’s plenty of things to be doing whilst it loads like planning my route with PFPX on a laptop.

There’s no rush. Just install 10-20 per day. It took me 3 days to install most of what was available in 2019. Since then loads of GA routes have become available.

And another advantage is because it’s maintained by enthusiasts updates are rapid. Defunct airlines can be removed if you wish. That option is quite difficult with other packages I believe.

When I had FS9 I had dozens of airlines installed, now with P3D v5.2 I don't have to many AI airlines installed. But that is only because I want to install the payware FSPXAI stuff and not many people paint those planes.

AIG allows you to nominate payware aircraft where you wish, and will fill any gaps with freeware aircraft. The 777-300ERs and A330s are particularly well catered for. I have all AIG flightplans, and just one freeware A330 repaint remains (Turkish) all others are converted to FSPXAI.

I have a lot of the FSPXAI larger planes but what has really been painted that much at all is the FSPXAI 767's, 737's, and baby Airbuses.

I've just timed it. My setup is FTX Global, UTX Europe, North America and Caribbean and FS Global plus lots of 3rd party airport scenery.

From launch to the Scenario menu takes 48s. From Scenario window to fully loaded takes a further 55s. So 1m 43s in total.

According to Ai Companion I have 994 BGL files plus an additional 120 aigfp files for AI Traffic Controller. Load times are really not an issue.

Wow Ray, is that from a cold boot or sleep mode? It takes me fifteen minutes load time from a cold boot up. I’m impressed. Sorry if off topic.

I have all Airlines installed for which there where Flightplans to find, including all the GA´s. No difference in case of P3D startup time nor other impact noticable impact on performance.

That’s with the computer already running. No point starting from the time I press the power button since that’s pretty short anyway. Less than a minute.

15 minutes is very slow. List your kit.
