the fix worked - thx very much - but it still is a bugger when you swap from camera view back to the cockpit - did a flight from Sydney to Melbourne this morning - 44 mins from on the runway to landed - flew it @ 35K - but I couldn't get either the main FAI, HSI or radar to work - also how do you get the joystick out of sight?

Other than that heaps of fun!!

Radar controls is on left panel. Look for  "word not allowed" guide for radar in doc folder. As far as HSI goes I don't think they call it HSI, but  lets call it HSI LOL You can get TACAN code from the table in assist app and after that dial it in TACAN dial (right console). Make sure that TACAN switch (next to TACAN dual) is in T?R and "HSI" dial clockwise until you see in upper left corner TCN.

Basically I can dial any ILS frequency using table but HSI acts like RMI just point arrow to localize. I can find glideslope guidance at all

I must say I really love F-104! I’ve been studying manuals, watching training videos, reading..

So far my furthest trip (with four drop tanks) I made was around 600 miles. I use manual figures to calculate best economy cruise altitude for a weight and drug.

I still don’t understand how AA radar works. My DCS background flying Mig-21 doesn’t really help. I pick AU traffic only sometimes . Support of F-104 developers definitely  lacks. Whatever problem or question I ask them they quickly brush me off. Perhaps someone with Italian language can do a better job.

No doubt developer team is amazing, but lack of support is really disappointing. Still I love F-104 and hope for patch!

I've been getting CTDs the last couple of days... seemingly associated with starting the sim with the TF104 being the active aircraft from the previous session. Anyone else?

Had several consequent flights with F-104, no problem here. Did you install something new in between?

I put their Red Panda (websimconnect) application into my PC startup menu. That seems to correlate more or less with when I started having a problem. I'll do more investigating today. It's annoying because it takes so long to restart everything and the crashes often don't occur until several minutes into into a flight.

I dont think starting that with PC start up sounds a good idea, it seem its best to open/run it once in the aircraft in the sim. Dont take that the wrong way am not having a go.

Still  not bought it, but I think for me it looks the best. Any more feedback before I buy guys?

I'm enjoying it. It doesn't seem as refined as the JustFlight Hawk though, in the Hawk every switch does something(there are a lot less switches in the Hawk, to be fair) where as in the 104 there are switches that do nothing and certain things that are just modeled, I mean with all the systems and old technology in the 104 this is understandable. It's an old FAST plane and it is a challenge to fly(just like the real one I'd imagine) but it does fly nice, as nice or nicer than the Hawk, after all they are very different planes The only reason I'm really comparing the two is because they came out for MSFS at roughly the same time. I do find the fuel burn is really high though and its hard to get above 30,000 feet with the tip tanks on. There are some bugs still but as of yet there hasn't been an update to the initial release, I'm hoping most bugs get ironed out in the near future. And. I'm not a real fan of the outside programs to get the thing started and the radar to work(or not work), especially since Osobo has created a monster for us V.R. guys in su7. Am I glad I bought it? YES? My favorite jet so far.

Exactly my thoughts! Just Flight Hawk is more refined but 104 is more fun to fly!

I got both the TF-140g and the T-45c Goshawk. I just don't like the external program for the TF-104g. I wish that was mention in the documentation before buying.  I think the T-45C is a more enjoyable jet to fly

I know it was kind rude reply. The irony that manual (from the real aircraft) they ship F-104 with does have whole chapter on autopilot LOL I worked with CFI who is Italian he wasn't friendly either, so no offense to Italian folks but I assume it's part of the culture! LOL

Yet I really enjoy flying 104 regardless. I had they product back in P3D and I enjoyed it as well. As far as I remember they do patch their products, so there is a hope!

I used the PHI in P3D. Works exactly the same... even cut and paste my old .in3 file into MSFS, so I'm good. Works like a charm.

No worries. I felt the same way but it was what SSW recommended. Anyway, I've removed it from the startup and so far, no CTDs, but I'm still testing.

Since you familiar with this system I have a question. Is there any way to get glideslope indication (for ILS) or not?
