Nvidia Inspector / Gysnc

When I update the MSFS profile in Nvidia Inspector to include Gsync, Power, etc. Do I need to leave inspector open when running MSFS or will it use that profile automatically?

No, you just have to apply the settings then you can close it.

I actually learned NI is no longer required - Control Panel does the job, and there isn't actually much to tweak with this modern games...

Ok thanks, When you say Control Panel does the job, I do not see a place to select the Gsync settings.

You have both "Set up G-SYNC" for global control and individual per profile control under Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings. No need for Nvidia Inspector.

There is a GSync section (global) and an individual menu item in the 3D Settings.

If you don't see them, your monitor is not configured or connected properly.

How is your monitor connected? HDMI or DisplayPort cable? I think you need to use DisplayPort to make GSync work.

Unless you use HDMI 2.1 😉

Please note: Some Adaptive Sync monitors will ship with the variable refresh rate setting set to disabled. Consult with the user manual for your monitor to confirm the Adaptive Sync setting is enabled. Also some monitors may have the DisplayPort mode set to DisplayPort 1.1 for backwards compatibility. The monitor must be configured as a DisplayPort 1.2a or higher to support Adaptive Sync.

very nice.

I Bought a Samsung U32J590 yesterday.  Not the best monitor I know, but just over £200 with shipping.  It will take me to 32 inches rather than my current 28, so I just about have room on my desk, and I will be glad of the extra screen space.

It is 4k, has AMD Freesync, but in the reviews I read, my Nvidia 3080Ti will be able to utilise it (It was actually tested by the reviewers with the panel in Freesync 'ultimate' mode).  The sync only goes down to 40 FPS, but my 3080Ti tends to hold at 55-57 in most situations (infuriatingly just below the magic 60! ), so hopefully it will give a smoother experience.

It has good colours and refresh apparently for a VA panel.  I wanted to go for something HDR and proper Gsync at 32 inches 4k, but you are talking at least triple the cost!   It is just an intermediate solution for me until next year, and for about £200 I thought it was worth a shot.  If it doesn't work out, it can go in the lounge for our multimedia PC.

Delivery is Tuesday, so I can't wait to try it.
