December 3, 20214 yr With all due respect, for all of the people here on avsim who say the haze is unrealistic, have you guys actually spent time flying? Not to start a debate but if you haven’t, how can you even comment on it? Being on the ground and seeing the weather is completely different than seeing the same weather on the ground. there are days that are super clear in real life for sure, but it’s usually seasonal and very local. when I fired up the sim since this latest update, the haze wasn’t bad at all. It needed work but it was still very convincing based off my thousands of hours flying. all I’m saying is that it’s more realistic than one would think. anyways, flame away FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024
December 3, 20214 yr My concerns are more about the pop-ins. I was on approach to Santa Barbara yesterday and while on final, the weather completely changed to clear, like back in the FSX days. It is a real immersion killer. I can deal with it being a little hazy, but really hope they fix all the weather pop-ins and dramatic changes.

December 3, 20214 yr The haze itself looks much better than anything I’ve seen in any previous sims, just needs work on the smoothing / placing etc. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

December 3, 20214 yr When you are approaching, suddenly appearing haze is even worse... Totaly immersion killer. C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. Engineer. at LTFJ
December 3, 20214 yr I fly mostly in the western USA and it's WAY overdone IMHO. Other areas I've flown seem more realistic. I hope they can get a handle on this. I have to turn live weather off for most flights. December 3, 20214 yr It appears that metar information is being improperly interpreted for the US, setting the cloud base at MSL instead of AGL. Therefore, a ceiling of 800' where ground level is 600' MSL puts the cloud on the deck and removes the capability of making a proper approach to minimums. The "haze" effect itself is nicely done, but it doesn't help when it's wrong for that location. Randall Rocke
December 3, 20214 yr I hope they realize that this is not only an MSL-vs-AGL-issue. The clouds also are too low and intersecting with the ground in regions with no significant elevation, even over the sea. Apart from that the haze is a different issue. The main problem is that it is popping in and out all the time. Secondly it is overdone and often does not correlate with the local METAR. Edited December 3, 20214 yr by RALF9636
December 3, 20214 yr When approaching haze suddenly appearing at 400 feet agl... And here some people says this is normal, no panic guys. Lol. C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. Engineer. at LTFJ

Only place I saw haze all the time was flying into LA, they called it smog.

I've only flown four times in the US and two of those had memorable haze. Imagine you just don't remember it. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

Do you understand this statement that I made " Only place I saw haze all the time was flying into LA, they called it smog"....Maybe try reading it very slowly....😉

I’m not going to debate you because at the end of the day, we would have to post pictures and it would get too cumbersome. However, for me, it is super rare for me to fly on a crystal clear day without haze. Hell, the days I can’t get the field in sight for a visual outside of 15 miles is a treat. I would be so happy if I could get a vis of 15 miles in the US with the Asobo SU7 Haze. many times I have a RVR of less than the runway length prior to takeoff, because of the haze everywhere. Until this Haze gets fixed, I am staying away from US flying. I just launched a flight in Italy. and guess what, no Haze.
