IRL there always haze, something less sometimes more. the vis up to the horizon is not realistic and making people complain about trees LOD and such...

As a few people said it actually looks more realistic.

Interesting post as it appears Asobo is trying to make things "as real as it gets" and that appears too real!

People here don't want realism they want fantasy. Like there is never haze (low vis) in the skys IRL. XPlane folks would laugh at these threads.

I think the issue is more the sudden transitions and 'popping-in' of the haze/visibility and not necessarily the haze itself...although it does seem a bit thick at times compared to the reported visibility.

The issue is not that there is haze. The issue is the constant appearing and disappearing of it. Besides of the other METAR implementation issues...

To me it looks right.

I have thousands of hrs IRL piloting, and it is a rare day it is not hazy.

You especially notice it in the winter when the sun is low. Looking into the sun lots of haze away much less and FS2020 shows that perfectly.

The best visibility is when it is very cold with high pressure dry air at night and a lot of wind to blow away the pollution. Then it is spectacular you can see all the way from Maine to NY and further lights even. FS2020 shows this well as well as the standard hazy days.

I noticed this. I was impressed with how light scattering is simulated.

It's a question of perception.  Everytime I've flown in RL there has been (and even on my bike in the countryside) haze.

There is no right or wrong here. Welcome to the world of weather.  A good AI application.

Cheers

Well I am a gluten for punishment I guess, because I decided to try one more flight in the US thinking things might have changed. KCMI to KCOU. By the time I got out to the runway, the haze had rolled in. Back to Europe Tomorrow.

Try some South American locations.  Could be fun.

I noticed the same around Central America. Weather was spectacular.

I don't get the fuss about the haze.

Here is a pic from my last real life flight in a 777-300ER. Guess what? HAZE 🙂

Given Xplane’s history with weather depiction they probably shouldn’t.
