AI options are good

My real hope is that Microsoft sees this working and decides to drop Flightaware and open a partnership with FlightRadar24 for the default live traffic.

I have a feeling they have not yet fully come to terms with the fact that if they stick to Flightaware they'll never realize the promise of having every aircraft in the air simulated by the AI (let alone on the ground). They have entire fleets wrong (for instance with B738s simply labeled as generic "737" that simply don't appear), and they don't even bother to follow up on reports to fix their data.

Comments on performance impact per se?  I'm a bit loath to purchase much of anything more right now until stability starts to gel more in MSFS.  We're told stability is a priority but perhaps not til after the new year...but I'm very patient so can deal with that.

You can tweak how many aircraft you want tops depending on your rig. Other than that, it really depends on where you are. At smaller airports you won't even notice it. At KJFK, expect to naturally have lower frame rate than without (I drop about 10 at KJFK with a 3070).

That being said, this is free, so you don't need to purchase anything.

They are native low-poly models - fantastic. Copied from the official forums:

Features:

  • MSFS independent online IFR/VFR traffic injection system with stock ATC interaction based on FlightRadar24. No need to download seasonal routes.
  • Worldwide sensible parked aircraft spawns based on historical data - no more random parked, Austria and Australia are finally different countries.
  • Unique liveries based on a tail number.
  • Intelligent fallback system if no model or livery is found for the particular aircraft.
  • Can be used with stock Asobo’s Live AI, however it’s very broken since SU7 (nose gear up/no departure bug).
  • Fully animated, enhanced low-poly models.
  • Native glTF - no stutters and CTDs.
  • Full PBR and parallax materials.
  • Realistic dynamic turnoffs/landing/taxi and other lights.
  • Over 740 made from scratch liveries at the time of writing. All in 4K.
  • Native VATSIM support with all lights and animations .
  • Various fixes for Asobo’s AI bugs present on generic aircraft.
  • Every plane correctly uses all ground services and jetways - bigger planes favor a second door for boarding/unboarding.
  • Each plane has a realistic ground roll on takeoff and landing (unfortunately AI still has no idea what a high-speed exit is).
  • Heat, contrail and other effects.
  • Custom Wwise sound for each aircraft (and engine type in close future) including startup, spool up, reverse, different power setting and shutdown.

And what about the numerous default airports in which case Asobo would be the designer?

Well for the unencrypted airports, anyone with the know how can just edit them with ADE.

It also has a lot more smaller stuff like the fact that aircraft land and take off in more realistic runway real estate instead of basically behaving like STOLs 😂

You had me at this and GA traffic.

Release the Kraken!! 😁

The default  live traffic right now is horrible. I fly to different airports all the time, but they are the larger airports in an area. I usually see no live traffic at all, but if I switch to offline AI, I am surrounded by aircraft. It seems like OnLine AI only works at very large airports, and even then, just a few aircraft are seen.

It's great news, glad to see them back and will eagerly wait to try it out.

Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

So how is this different from the AIG one? Is this one Real Live Airplane stuff whereas AIG is AI? Getting confusing with all these similar titled add ons 😄

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

So I am not the only one, and then a couple of long threads for  products that aren't  even out yet....????

FSLTL seems to be using their own injected live traffic based on FlightRader 24's data. AIG is primarily offline traffic, but all the coding is there that it can work with MSFS live traffic if you turn it on.

This is what sells it to me over AIG.

Right ok, the one with the shortest loading time wins then!

I'll download this one when available.

AIG is converting their models to glTF as well. 787, 777, 757, A350, A380, Dash-8-200 are done and deployed. The a330 is currently in the works.

Yeah but it takes 3 days to load and the injector keeps crashing.
