MSFS Kodiak releasing tomorrow

Featured Replies

I'Ve just took it for a short flight, and it's not FPS friendly. Actually a real FPS hoag, at least when flying over Helsinki. I Wonder if it really suppose to turn on a dime on the runway? I've noticed that you also have to apply parkingbrake, otherwise the plane will shoot down the runway on idle.

Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.

I have not noticed that yet. Did you put conditioner to high and prop full forward by any chance? Because I taxi on low or high idle only

One of those airplane when you scream on your copilot "right rudder, right rudder!"

Does the rudder trim work well enough to avoid this?

And can you kick out the co-pilot?

So far I tried take off only two times with right rudder all the way to the wall. No it's recommended to set rudder trim prior take off which I didn't.  I'm not sure if left turning tendencies are a bit overdone, but it takes me a lot of rudder and some aileron to keep ball centered in climb LOL

As for copilot I think if  put zero weight in right seat co-pilot will disappear! I put 120 lbs so I got her ! LOL

Here is an interesting vid where you can see right rudder moving during take off (on co pilot side). So yes it seems I have the same experience in MSFS Kodiak!

No floats or skis.  Bummer, I think I will pass.

The promo video, showed a float version, which is what I am basically interested in...but when I did the Euro conversion....not spending almost $58.00 (then plus GST (then $65.34)!) for the thrill...anyway....

I haven't purchased yet (rarely have time to fly anyway) but I feel the price is too high - maybe with floats and skis it's more reasonable.

Exactly...it would be just under $65.00 (including GST tax) for me....pass, thank you...I have other birds that can take me up in MSFS, or will fly this model in P3D v5.3 (which I do...)

Do Kodiaks have deicing boots? Wonder if they work.

As far as deicing systems go, I believe pitot heat is all they have.

It has TKS ice-protection and is certified to fly into known icing conditions. Quite useful at this time of the year.

I'm also having trouble with the autopilot. It' will not hold to the nav line? I'm flying with a friend that also bought the plane and we both having the same problem. FLC was ok though.

I just bought it from Simmarket and was charged 35 euros which is CAN$ 51.  😉

A search showed that new ones have the TKS system and older Kodiak's can be retrofitted now.  Show yes, maybe.  😊

Edit:   They are modeling the new ones, so that is good.  👍

Just completed my first flight, Kenai to Talkeetna, Alaska. The sound package is great, visuals are really nice. I had no problems, autopilot flew the route just fine, flight level change, vertical speed, nav, everything did what it was supposed to do to get me to my destination. Overall a great first flight and I'm excited to do many more!

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

More than that for sure
