Kodiak problems - Stall and left roll!!

I'm having the same issue. Autopilot is off. Rudder trim set. Rolls over right after takeoff to the left and crash. This stinks.

Also set elevator trim... Look at the white line on the trim wheel and turn it about 45 degrees forward (down).

Secondly, try rotating at 70 knots and let it build up speed to 90 while on runway heading.

Question.. can you not correct the roll with the yoke?

This is what helped me immensely. I kinda like that it's modelled this way. To me, it makes it feel much more realistic.

Gents, FYI we spotted a bug that slipped into the flight model before release and was noticed after. We found it and are preparing a Hotfix. We also reduced P-factor.

The plane will not clip you if you rotate within the correct speeds any more and it's stability is improved. Ham-fistedness will still have a price, though.

I'm looking forward to this Hotfix and the reduced P-factor, not necessarily b/c it will be easier to fly, but hopefully more true to the real handling of the airplane.  I use this airplane in MSFS 2020 with a program called FSEconomy.  The configuration tool that is used to load the airplane seems to be a bit wonky.  If A320_SX ALX member has any familiarity with such programs (FSEconomy.net), it would be appreciated to have the loading tool that uses SimConnect to be able to load the Kodiak without having the CG go out of bounds (usually aft with a big passenger load and fuller tanks)!

SWS facebook page states that the hotfix should be released within 24 hours from now. (now is 10:30 AM Mountain time US)

"Gents, we will be releasing a Hotfix for the Kodiak within the next 24h.

We identified a bug that slipped into the release build and would cause extreme instability with aft CG as well as the problem of climbing up hill. We are awaiting the verdict of two Kodiak pilots in the testing team (another one joined).

What it will address is:

Excessive yaw caused from P-factor and propwash
G1000 not dimming
A couple of minor issues

For the mountain climbers: I personally tested the Kodiak at Bugalaga and Lukla. With enough power, not max, and right rudder to counter the P-Factor, she will easily climb both at up to 6000lbs.

If you plan to do 7000lbs of these strips, with an inclination of 10-12 degrees from a standstill, I’m sorry but physics are against it. At that weight, u will be able to negotiate lower inclines, though. For Aibai and similar, you shouldn’t have any issues."

FSE or similar programs would have to -literally- learn how to load a plane withing CG limits, something that is not simple to do from a programming standpoint.

Iy may seem easy, but how many times have you caught yourself loading the plane out of CG and correcting it after, or experimenting with the weights? If our brains need experimentation (or present loads) how hard is it to teach a computer?

All said, we would like to have an EFB utility at some point, we just don't know how to do it yet while remaining Xbox compatible.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all, by the way!

I wish you didn't have to worry about the XBox users (that's me being a selfish pc simmer for the past many years)

FSE uses a simple loading technique.... payload spread evenly across all load stations when using the Simconnect Client. However, MSFS has a unique situation where FSE does this but it doesn’t show in the aircraft fuel/payload window. It’s like it’s doing it in the background. So the thing to do is start the FSE client and then manually adjust payload as you want (FSE doesn’t care what weight you load). But CAUTION.... adjusting the payload in MSFS resets fuel to 50% which CAN be detrimental to FSE. Make sure you put back the correct fuel after payload adjustments.
